California Question
Has anyone had a parent copy their copy of their kid's birth certificate and write a statement on a separate piece of paper that this was a true copy of their copy of the birth certificate and you notarize the statement that this is the signature of that person who has stated the birth certificate was a true copy? That way the signer of the statement is swearing to the truthfulness of the contents of the statement and the notary is simply notarizing the person's signature on the statement, not on the copy of the birth certificate. I did a search and have seen suggestions on this board, but no confirmation that anyone in California has actually done this. Constructive, seasoned advice, please. Thank you very much.
