Change of address notarized?
I received a call today from a lady needing a notarization for a change of address. I've never heard of that one. Any thoughts on possible reason for needing a change of address notarized? Maybe I'm overlooking something simple or obvious but I'm stumped.

I've done a couple of these for school purposes. It was to do with residency lines or some such animal.

I did one along the same line Beth, the person had to prove to the school district that they had moved to an area that would qualify the child to ride the bus instead of walking to school.

Thanks. The first thing I thought of was the one from the post office and that just didn't make sense. After a long day (and night) I just wasn't thinking clear. I appreciate the input.

My attorney has a form used for address verifications
that has been circulated around the office. The form is used if a person needs an address verification and can't get to the post office to obtain one. The person simply fills out the form and then the notary administers to them an oath, under penalties of perjury (obviously), and signs it.
The Department of Transitional Assistance (welfare) accepts the forms as an address verification, as do most other agencies/people.
