Does anyone else hate Friday night signings?
Friday nights seem to be my biggest time of the week, yet I hate working on Friday nights. I really like to kick back on Friday night but consistently get 3 or 4 requests for signings at that time. I don't mind working evenings Monday through Thursday, but can't get past this Friday thing. Anybody else feel that way? Anybody charge premium for Friday night or the weekend?
Thanks for your comments.

I look at it this way, at least you don't have to knock yourself out on Sat. trying to get the darn thing mailed off. No Sat. pick up where I am.

Esp. at the EOM you seem to get slammed when you're walking around like a zoombie by then.We do have Sat. PU so I'm always zooming around to get things out! I look forward to brunch after church on Sunday and the Sunday paper.

Well the reason I don't like Friday night signings is that I would prefer to make plans with friends, and then I always feel guilty for turning down signings for such a lucrative time of the week.
Guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself when I'm out working on Friday nights and it seems like the rest of the world has wrapped up their work week.

Re: Does anyone else hate Friday night signings? Another way
to look at it, atleast you have Friday signings. It could be that you have none at all. I like you, love to spend Friday night at home or with friends, but for me, job first play later.

In my area Betsy, it seems most people are busy doing other things on friday nights. I seldom get a friday night signing. Most of them are Saturday afternoons.

To O/Cnotary....You are wrong.....I'm almost 60 years young!
I retired from 34 years in the airline industry right after 9/11 and have been doing this for a retirement job for the last few years. I still depend very much on this income to supplement my pension, but it's not the "be all and end all" of my life, fortunately.
I still like to go out with friends, and I value leisure time very much. So I'm probably making some other notary very happy every time I turn down a Friday night signing....LOL.

I understand Betsy....
After a long 5 days of work, I like to go out with friends. Sometimes I feel like I grew up to fast. Most twenty-two year olds are out partying and getting into trouble. Me, I'm doing my job and am focused on my career. So, months ago, my girlfriend and I chose one night out the week to get together with friends. That night is Friday.
Originally we were going to make it Sunday nights.... yet, what the heck is open on Sundays?????????? Not to mention Monday is the worst day out of the week. The last thing I anticipate doing is running to work, and the courthouse, with a hangover.

I call in for pickup on Sat -- no more zooming around to UPS then across town from there to FedEx drop offs. Much easier for me...and I can see the guy physically take the package in his hands -- I've had issues with drop boxes from time to time in the past. If I have a choice, I want to SEE the package go onto the truck.

Re: Does anyone else hate Friday night signings? No...I love
to work anytime I can work.
Fridays are good days for me. I think it probably has a lot to do with what else is going on in your life. Since I have an empty nest, a Friday night signing is a good time for me.
