Help with DOT

I did a search before asking, but could not find the answer to my questions. I am doing my third signing tomarrow, so far it has been good and I feel I am getting better with each one. I feel I still need to get a rythem going, but I feel I am doing well. My question is there is only one borrower on loan, but the DOT is both the husband and wife name, on the documents there is only a space for the husband to sign. Can I have the wife sign on one of the blank forms or don't have her sign at all. I know I have to include both of them in the awknowledgement and have both sign my journal. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sal I would suggest that you call the hiring entity and ask for verification on how they want the docs signed. I have had it go where both sign, just the hubby sign, have the wife sign everything, have wife sign only DOT. As much as I would just rather go have them sign the way it's preprinted I have had too many different answers as they are all specific to that particular loan being signed. Also whenever I have called to verify I have always been told thank you for calling and making sure.

I'm with SaraBeth!

In case of conflicting instructions, or unclear instructions, or instructions but no printed name where it should (probably) be, a phone call makes you look proactive and smart, not dumb.
