Here's my concern this morning....

I did a closing last night after the scheduled back out 15 minutes before settlement because she couldn't download the docs.
After speaking with her for a few minutes, my partner found out that she is in DE doing MD closings now and is ALSO a loan officer at a mortgage company that is in competition with mortgage companies here and solicits her business in our area, WOW!
What a conflict of interest. First thing I did, called the loan officer that I was doing the closing for and let her know who this person is, for future reference.
People are growing bal*s bigger and bigger every day.

This is typical of any state. There's always something being done by someone who should not be doing it. In La. that's just all in a days work here. Why not just live and let live like we do?

Live and let live JudyinLA?? uh huh

for someone that doesn't exactly blow sunshine up the proverbial a$$ of NotRot, this post is a big surprise.

Live and let live my eyeballs.

Get this - brokers and mortgage lenders are getting into the signing gig bigtime. BIGTIME. Further they are requiring that their deals are closed ONLY by their signers... at a whopping $200 to $250 per.

So, live and let live, and hope the poor borrowers get a professional. That professional would NOT be a lender or a broker.

TitleGalCA, you should see on another website how they really blasted me for bringing this up. They are saying that loan officers do this all of the time and it is none of my business as long as the closer doesn't try to solicit the borrower.

Re: Live and let live JudyinLA?? to Loretta

It's really a big problem, Loretta. Escrow gets docs back that aren't signed correctly, no copies of ID, and certificates filled out wrong, all because the Brokers girlfriend or loan officers Aunt Jane gets to make money from their transactions. I'm sick of it to tell you the truth, and many escrow friends have adopted a policy of "no outside signers, period" because of this. That hurts ALL of us.
