How long does it take to get paid?

I'm a newbie. How long does it take to get paid? My first signing was 2/23. When should I expect to get paid? Thanks!

Tough Question.....It depends...

Each company is different. Some pay in 2 weeks, some pay in 30 days, some pay in 45 days, some over 60 days...

AND....Some just don't pay.

What company was it?

Since I'm new. Can anyone warn me of the non-paying companies? Thanks.

mnotaryca There is a list. . .

mnotaryca,

I am also new. In February I began to sign-up with different signing companies. However, I read the different notary boards to get an idea, of which companies to sign with, and which ones to avoid!

There is a list of "no" and "yes" companies. On this board, clink on the orange "Search" button, and type in "non-paying companies" or "slow paying companies" or "bad" companies etc. . .There are also other notary boards which will also comment on the various signing services.

Pam

mnotary...

Glad you found this resource!

Here's the deal: you are self-employed and an independent contractor.

How your customers pay you is YOUR call!

If you're just starting out, I'm sure you've read the horror stories here. If you've decided what your own policies are, better yet.

You control your destiny; good luck to you.

30 days is average, but check the closing date on the loan.

Re: How long does it take to get paid? Was this a company

you indeed needed to invoice or did the company generate their own invoice when you gave/sent the tracking number of the return package? I invoice all companies within 24 hours, print a copy for my records and date when I invoiced them first, I wait 30 days- invoice again, 45 days- invoice again. I allow 2 weeks to pass after the 45 day invoice.
However when I accept the work order, I ask for the pay schedule to sent along with the original work order. If I have worked for the company before and their pay history is one I can count on I will know their pay history from my records.
Then the ones you find you must go after, well that is a whole other story.
