I recieved this Fax RE: Sox & Lending Tree...

Amy from N.J. writes:

"I was asked to fax this to you. I'm not a member of any notary association so I can't log on. This is something you can post on the boards of Notary Rotary, GMN, NNA, or any other ones."

Her message is:

Yesterday I recieved a call from S.O.X. it was 8:15am and they wanted me to do a closing in Marlton at 1 PM with e-mail doc. delivery. I told her $150.00 (there was no way I was going to do the closing, because I don't work for free - which has been there reputation) just wanted to see if they would pay that amount. Before she said anything I commented on how early it must be in California, since that's where their based out of. It had to be at least 5:15 AM.

She went on to state that they have offices in FL, and that's when I realized that their affiliated with Lending Tree, that they actually have an office on site there. I was told that I could be paid no more than $65.00 for a same day e-mail signing!!!! Of course at this expense I had to decline the signing and wished her well on finding someone else to take over.

With that being said, I retrieved the phone number for Lending Tree with a great mission involved, getting BACK pay for several loans that have been un-paid by S.O.X. Isn't it hilarious how compaines call you for signings - with payments owed as far back as 2005. In any event I was able to get the phone number and e-mail address of Mike Hines at Lending Tree.

He's actually the "HEAD" of the closing department so I sent him a lengthy e-mail at [e-mail address] in reference to my concerns as well as the many others I've seen on various message boards. And, to my surprise, just a couple of hours later while making my notary rounds and checking my PC for docs - I notice a RESPONSE! An e-mail response from Mike Hines with Lending Tree, [which] was actually very promising.

Mr. Hines went on to share with me that this was one of several complaints he's had about SOX and has grown tired of them. He went on to state that they've had several phone call complaints (which I'm certain is not be good) he was extremely frustrated due to the fact that he SHOULD NOT be handling SOX finances as he has job duties of his own, which don't involve SOX.

To no avail, Mr. Hines said the magic words "FAX ME THE INVOICE AND I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT" WOW, that was like music to my ears. He stated that he'd bill SOX and they'd reimburse his fee, since there in his office. So of course I did and I should have my money tomorrow, should all go well.

SO IF YOU WANT YOUR BACK PAY E-MAIL MR. MIKE HINES! This should definetly help end all misery with SOX. The only thing I ask is that you wait until after the 8th, I want to make sure he completes my request before he's bombarded with future pay requests.

Amy of N.J. I have written your message. Take care. Smile

GET EVEN - NOT MAD

This is priceless. Old Chinese saying, "The best revenge is COLD". Wonder if he would honor my $150 owed from 2002? Actually I feel very sorry for Mike.

Re: GET EVEN - NOT MAD

Maybe Mike should come in here and do a search. What I would like to see is something from SOX explaining why they don't pay.

You really cannot pay attention to what state the fax number is from. When you sign up for one of the free fax numbers, you are usually assigned a number with a different states area code.

I've posted this once and I'll be happy to post it again ........ I have had NO PROBLEM getting paid by SOX, as long as you follow their proceedure I have found they will pay you in an average less than 60 days.

But then, I have ALSO done $150 signings for them, so I'm beggining to wonder why they are treating ME so good! LOL!!

I'm sure some folks are really having trouble getting paid by them.

But I also know some folks can't read and then follow simple instructions.

One thing RE email address previously written:

I believe Amy was wrong in spelling out the email address when she sent the fax to me. "Micheal" is usually spelt "Michael"... therefore, I think the correct address should read: [e-mail address]

Thank you Adam for your email. I wasn't aware that the email address was incorrect. I personally have no need to recieve back payment, and I therefore have not emailed "Michael".
