I was so excited!!!

I got a call on Monday to do my first signing. We talked about fedex, the amount of pay, check would be in w/loan docs etc. He stated he would call me back that night w/borrowers contact info. He never called and nothing ever came from fedex!!!! I am so puzzled, I tried to contact him and I get no response. Has this happend to anyone else? I am so bummed! It took awhile to get my first signing and then this happens.

A few things could have happened...

He might have found someone cheaper (happens all the time so don't sweat it), the job could have been cancelled, it could have been postponed, etc. Chalk it up to experience. Now when another call comes in you will be a little more sure of what to expect as far as the phone conversation goes.

p.s. make a note of the company and check it's reputation ..

on this site as well as any future companies. Just until you can start recognizing the bad ones when they call.

I will .... I tried to check this one but it's not on here. He was with American Realty.

It sounds like you could have been a victim of notary shopping. Or, several other things could have happened. Keep your chin up and don't worry about it. By the way, that's good advice to check the company's reputation. That will let you know lots. Just do a search.

Michelle..

This happened to me only once. It was 2 weeks ago as a matter of fact.

A title company called and asked if I could sign a purchase loan. I agreed and quoted my fee. He said that was fine and that he would call me back to let me know when docs could be expected. I never received that call back. The signing day and time came and went, however because I had not heard back from him in 2 hours with no confirmation or response to my left message, I considered that as "no signing". Another call came that was taken in that place, so no biggie.

Don't worry about it. You'll get the calls. Just give it some time. Pretty soon you'll be like the rest of us-so many signings, you won't be able to keep up. Good luck!

Re: Michelle..

That's what I am hoping for...right now I am on maternity leave from work. They give me 6mos off (not paid) but w/disability, paid family leave and my vacation time I have been off 4mos paid. I can take the rest of my time and spread it out, I can work 1 day a week, 8hrs for 6mos, or I can work 4hrs a week for 12mos!!!! I REALLY need to get this started so I can stay home longer and enjoy my last baby (I only have 2 kids - 7 1/2 yrs apart!)

Or it could have been another SA in your area...

checking to see what you charge. Was it an unknown call, or a local call? Did you just sign up with NR or another database? He just could have been scoping you out!

Re: Or it could have been another SA in your area...

The number showed up on caller id, it wasn't local, but it was in CA, not very far from where I live. I have signed up with others. I told him I would charge $75 (it was in my area). Some of these people want you to work for free!
