Incredible.....I am so angry
I did a signing in February for a SS that I already knew was not good for paying on time BUT time have been slow so I took my chances. The signing was H..L!! It was a Power of Attorney and a double loan. The loan company did not have instructions on wanting it signed a certain way so I had her sign it as I would anyone else that would sign with a POA. Sent the docs back and thought everything was fine.....NOT! The SS called me and said that the loan company wanted her to sign it in a different way. Both me and the SS agreed that it was the same thing but since it was not my error I was going to get paid for full price to go back out. So, today I called to follow up on payment. They dont have any record stating that they were going to pay me full price for the second trip, just the first trip. I guess it is my fault for taking the signing in the first place. I am not a happy person right now!!!

I don't blame you, Tracy, and I wouldn't let this go. More than likely the SS got a double fee for this. I would hound them, and if they didn't concede to paying you full fee for both signings, I'd get in contact with the lender and/or title, whoever they got the job from. If they keep any kind of good records, they know they you should be getting a double fee. Fight back!

I don't blame you either for being angry. Did you recieve a confirmation for your second signing? If not, then I'm not sure how you're going to defend your position. If you didn't get a confirmation for your second trip fee, then take it as a lesson learn. Look at the bright side. . . you'll never do it again .
Let us know in a future update if they decided to pay you.

I dont have a confirmation for the second signing, it was a rush thing. I was pretty stupid for not asking but like you said....I will have to take this as a lesson learned.
I will keep you posted on what happens

Ya I'm afraid you may be sol since you didn't get anything in writing, however, I want to share something with you that I read somewhere---if a ss does not pay you, the title company is obigated to cover your fee. I don't remember where I read it though.

I am going to chaulk this one up as a lesson learned. I left a message on their machine and told them that this is not what we agreed to. On Monday, I will talk to them again and tell them to take me off their list of notaries. I would much rather do without the signing than to be screwed around.
I now know that if the amount changes......GET A NEW CONFIRMATION!
Thanks to all of you for your advice
