Injunction rc'd: Montgomery County, MD legislation

To all MD signing agents -- I just found out that Montgomery County courts have placed an injunction against Bill 36-04 civil law on preditory lending. This injunction is good for 90 days. The court decided that the potential harm done by this bill outweighs the need for immediate enforcement, but that no ruling on the merits of the legislation were made today. The next court date is set for July 6, when there will be a ruling on the merits of the bill. For now, it is expected that lenders will be back to business in our county, at least up until we get closer to the July 6 hearing date.

Back in business! (along with the last minute, 2 hour closings with clueless borrowers! ;-) )

Vicki/MD

You shouldn't automatically think bad about people who can't afford better credit. Maybe it is not there fault.

Re: If bad credit is not their fault whose is it????

it seems to me that they are 2 types of persons with bad credit, there are the deadbeat persons and that is all their fault, there are many persons whose credit goes bad due to
serious illness, loss of income that goes with it, that is not a fault of theirs, perhaps there is poor planning, but I did a signing for a woman with brain cancer, she had good insurance but she was liable for 20% of costs and that was still a hugh amount of money, plus she had to take a long time off of her job and she also had a husband in the beginning stages of alzheimers , so those things are really not her fault. She was dealing with it the best she could.
