Just a thought
I'm thinking about reporting the loan companies to donotcall.gov when they start calling me too many times about this, that, are you on your way, did you call the client, etc. I'm thinking about this because my business relationship isn't with the loan companies if I'm contacted and assigned to do a signing through a SS. The loan company calls more than the SS! Any thoughts?

Isn't the do not call list used for unwanted solicitations?

Re: YES.
This doesn't seem to fall under a DO NOT Call Registry complaint. It sounds like an abuse of the system.

Re: YES.
The Do Not Call registry does not apply for business to business calls. If a business contacts your business to solicit, you can ask to be removed from their call list and they must comply. The original post has nothing to do with the Do Not Call registry.

I understand and sympathize with you on your frustrations from excessive calls from the lender(s). Understand that this happens because the lender is unable to be present him/herself for the closing and may have feelings of insecurity. Many of them have a lot at stake and are only trying to protect their interest. They've probably had a bad experience in the past with another notary in a similar situation.
Be patient and continue to show them your professionalism. I don't believe donotcall.gov would be be appropriate platform for this issue. You may consider declining future assignments from the lenders that call excessively if it continues to be a problem.

I think it would be easier for you to just quit the business than it would be for you to drive yourself out of business by doing stupid stuff like this. Why on earth would any company use you again if you did this?

"Why on earth would any company use you again if you did this?"
Because it's irritating to be prepared to leave and head out the door and have a phone call from the lender. I'm ready to rock and roll and the lender could call the SS and get the same information. I don't think it's unreasonable at all for a little cutback in the communication. In addition, a couple of loan officers have treated me, via their language, as their employee. I am not their employee. Is that simple enough to understand?

So because you find it annoying and you're self employed, that answers the question of why they would use you again? That makes absolutely no sense.
Let me rephrase it in a way that is simple enough for you to understand. Let's assume for a second that you actually could report this to the do not call people. They call the lender and say that Mr. Careful has reported them for phone harassment. What do you think the chances are that the lender is going to offer you any future work?
Is that simple enough to understand?

CaliNotary, just because some other notary allowed loan companies to call and call doesn't mean that I will. We're all independent contractors, in case you've forgotten.
As for your 'stupid' comment, recall my header for this thread: JUST A THOUGHT. Who died and made you god?
