Sorry, too fast on the trigger. As an occasional reader and a rare contributor it never ceases to amaze me how many of us have axes to grind and often put down others who don't seem to measure up to individual criterias. I wish you all the best. Its a tough world out there. Perhaps we can help one another without animus.

Harry,
I think the axes to grind are directed to the ones who contribute nothing but animus not to mention the harm that they inflict with their misinformation. The recent posts illustrate the frustration of many of the veterans who grew impatient with the blatant misinformation that was being disseminated. Face it, we all have opinions on things and occasionally may give an answer that is wrong. But, when corrections are tendered by a vast majority and still there is no retraction or acknowledgement that maybe there was an error, I can appreciate the frustration. It wasn't until I read a few of the posts that I finally put my 2 cents into the fray. There are a lot of newbies that read this board and for them to get information that not only impinges on the image of this profession but also the legal ramifications of their actions, would be a grave disservice to all of us who strive to be professional and competent in our undertakings. It's not always a matter of measuring up to individual criteria, but a matter of measuring up to professional standards.

I can't disagree with what you say. I do think we owe one another civility. I have a business and do signings only in the evening, so perhaps my perspective differs from some of the posters.

Harry, you are correct.
Your observation is right on, its very simple. There are some not happy and there are reasons for this. But I do not think it has anything to do with this board. Some just like the attention they get from being rude here on this board.

Harry there are sometimes that is just boils down to a complete lack of responsibility and maturity. The recent posts remind me of a child who's been caught in wrongdoing but would rather stick to her story than admit and learn from the experience. And in this case the consequences for those who listen to said poster could be grave. We began with civility, but the complete lack of understanding the responsibility of ones comission is what caused a situation and not a simple discussion.

but as with any large group of people; there will be different standard's of professionalism, ethics and expertise. It's for the reader to take the info they need and do the research to confirm it's correct. You can build a great network of folks by emailing each other. It's currently the best way to communicate with people who share your same values.
