My first loan signing. What does this mean?!?!?!

This was my first loan signing. They wanted to me to meet with the barrowerat 4pm and send the docs. on the same day with fedex. We finished the signing and I sent them an invoice and I got this answer:

We did not fund today – issues on seller side. We will need you again early next week if you are available?

Can someone explain to me what this means?

It means that the loan didn't fund. Not a notary problem, it just didn't fund. Obviously, the lender is expecting to resign next week. Obviously, you did a good job or they wouldn't want you back. Don't worry about it.

It sounds like there's something going on with the real estate transaction on the sid eof the seller and not the buyer. It could be any number of things. I'd call the SS or Title Company that sent you this order and inquire as to what exactly they meant by that statement. If they satisfy your curiousity with their answer, take the next job and roll with it. Just keep good records.

If it's a lender issue or a borrower issue that caused the loan not to fund, then why do you want to call the SS or TC? It's really between the lender and borrower, not the notary.

My first instinct was to go to the TC or SS because I thought they might have given her the job. IF she got the job directly from the lender then of course contact the lender and find out that way. In either case, I see where you are coming from and it makes more sense. Thanks for posting that.

Your job was with a specific employer, don't go running to anybody and everybody, it will label you as someone who hasn't got a clue and probably more trouble than its worth. The fact that the SS wants you to do the second signing is all the justification you need that you did a good job. If you didn't, if the problem was on your side, you wold have found out immediately and without any question. The TC is very busy and doesn't need any additional load on their part.

As a title person I would say don't call.

They told you in there response that there was a problem on the seller side. That says it had nothing to do with your signing.
