National Real Estate (NREIS)

Has anyone had any problems lately with NREIS? They really made me mad the other day. They had a meeting and decided to CUT the notaries fees $5.00 for printing docs. Come on!! $5.00??? I do signings for them that I'm already underpaid, and they want to cut my fee!!?? Has anyone else been told this?

It is fine that they set the price but we decide if we accept the price or not. I think the independent contractor way is lost on most companies. They want to dictate terms.

They completely ignore whatever they have that tells them our price is XYZ and tell us that it is being offered at ABC. I quoted $150 yesterday and was told "we only pay $100." It was edocs 45 miles away. I said, I understand. I am sorry. Please call if you can get a higher fee on this one."

The elderberries (Mom and friend) were visiting again and (again) they both agree that even the depression mentality they come from says $100 is not enough when it comes to 90 miles to cover, plus printing 200 pages or more.

Elderberries~ I love it!

I try to be nice to schedulers who call and lowball, they are just following orders, but I, like Brenda, am assertive and tell them if they CAN get a higher fee to call me back.

Just think of all the money they will save (pocket) each year if they lower EVERY signing by "just" $5.00. Then think of all the money we lose if we lower our fees by $5.00.... win for them, definite loss for us, it definitely adds up!

I told them that since they have decided to DICTATE what my fees are going to be "they can start paying my taxs" I don't think the gal liked that to much, OFW. I also think these companies better get their heads out of their butts and wake up to the fact that the more they restrict us, the finer that employee vs independent contractor line becomes.
