Nations Title of Clearwater BEWARE
At first, seems like a match made in heaven. Docs come the day prior to closing and people are pleasant to work with. UNTIL... I printed docs for a closing...they canceled the closing, and now they refuse to pay for the edoc fee. Tonya says that she doesn't understand why I expect to be paid for docs. Can you imagine? I guess I sit around and print docs for people all day for free...Office Depot must give me those cartridges and paper for free. BEWARE.. And, just so you know...the person to email if this has happened to you... [e-mail address]. Tonya says that she doesn't get paid enough to deal with notaries like me. HMMM...and I thought I was one "of their favorites".

I, personally would not charge a TC that I work with on a regular basis a print fee on cancelled appointment IF they were few and far between. The truth is, the ones I work for regularly appreciate that, and I have only had one in 3 years so what am out in 3 years? A $25 print fee, but I have done hundreds of signings for a full fee, because the TC's I am referencing do appreciate that I don't nickel and dime them and have rewarded me with more volume. If they are not a regular client of mine, we discuss and agree to terms BEFORE I print the docs. So what I am saying is, sometimes you have to eat a few bucks in order to make a few more bucks. It depends on your relationship with your client and the terms you agreed to initially, IMO. I know not everyone will agree with me, but it is working well for me and my bank account.

I have a relationship with Nations Title of Clearwater, as far as I'm concerned it is a match made in heaven, they have always treated me well, going on 3 years now. We all know that closings rarely go on time or as planned. In establishing a long lasting business relationship with my clients, I gladly eat printing fees to continue to receive business from that client, in the long run you will make up for the small loss of printing 1 closing package. As a notary in business for myself, I consider printing docs a business expense, if a closing doesn't go through here or there I make up for it in other closings. I extend my Kudos to Nations of Clearwater, one of my favorite title companies to work for

Hmm..."anonymous"...makes ya wonder, doesn't it? ;)
I am so glad I'm getting responses to this. It's good to know what others are doing. I too, personally would eat print fees on any title company that gave me lots of business and was a regular customer. However, this is not the case with Nations. They stopped using me because my fees were too high... ($125 normally). I'm just trying to get some past due invoices paid (this isn't the only one from them)...and so I called to find out why they haven't paid the edoc fee. We'll see what happens on the other invoices...these other loans closed and my checks were just "short" $. I wonder how that happens...

If a loan doesn't close, does the appraiser expect to get paid? Or does he just chalk it up as "business expenses"? just wondering.

I think anon may have opened up a can of worms!
It has been my experience that the appraiser is paid at the time services are rendered (unlike the notary).

We have a good relationship with our appraiser, he will eat a fee to continue to receive our business, however...if an appraiser COMPLETES the appraisal, and it doesn't close, he usually reduces his fee to a trip fee, but if he prints the order request and the appraisal gets canceled, they don't charge us for the paper.

So, anonymous...which is it? You have great relationship with Nations and you are a notary in business for yoursefl...or do you have a great relationship with your appraiser, he doesn't charge you for the paper, and you are actually Nations Title. ??? C'mon...do you think we are that stupid? You have the same IP address. It's pretty hard to get caught in a lie when you are posting as "anonymous", but you have managed to do it. Amazing.

Re: Identity of Anonymous
Just want to clarify that I (Anonymous) am not Nations Title, I am a notary, and a mortgage loan processor, I have great relationhips with both Nations Title and my appraiser and certainly do not appreciate being called a liar. You are right about one thing though....wasting time, I'm done with this.
