Everytime I wear out my printer, I just get a bigger and better one than before. I usually get the cheapest, but then I have problems. Right now I use a Brother MFC-8220. I am very happy with it. BUT, the next time I get a printer, I will spend the money for a double tray, becuase constantly switching out the legal and letter paper is a hassle. So, if you can afford it, just do it from the start.

I have a new HP that I haven't even started to use yet because because my old dinosaur... my Brother 8500 just won't wear out. It's the energizer bunny!
If you use the orange search button and type in the Model you are curious about or the word Printer... you can browse a ton of info.
Happy shopping!

Dual tray info
A second tray is available for your 8220. Part #LT5000. I ordered mine from ebuyer.com for $123.00 (shipping included). It works great!

Second post I've seen on this. Are you pushing the training? Are you getting a commission? Are you spamming?

I Rarely Use my Second Tray
I generally print everything on legal and have never, ever had a problem. There are a few lenders out there (Navy FCU, Chase, some pool loans etc) that are ALL on 8 1/2 X 11. The second tray has not enhanced my business at all.

Re: My second tray is a timesaver
I have more companies than not that require intermixed paper sizes, specifically docs printed on the corresponding size they were created. Some states charge higher rates for recording legal paper.

Title and Escrow just use a papercutter for the Deeds
And I save them the time by doing it myself anyhow. I'm just being honest here - it's all my opinion for ME and what works FOR ME here in California. I respect that everyone is different and states are different.
