Newbie question..

I got my first signing but they changed the time on me last minute. I can not make it but I have a notary friend that can. Can I send him in my place and split the fee? Do I have to notify the agency that contacted me?

I would notify the agency that you can't do it, but give

your friend as a reference.

When they contacted you to change the time and you couldn't make it, you should tell them that the new time does not work with your schedule. Can you schedule for a couple hours later, etc...if that works with your schedule?!?! Did you print eDocs? I would do my best to KEEP the signing and see if we can reschedule within the same day. If you have to refer it to another notary, then usually that notary gets paid the fee. If this is the case and you printed eDocs, you can see if you can at least get compensated for those.
