Notary Direct Good one!
Got a call yesterday for a closing 25 miles away. When I gave them my fee, they said no, we can only pay $65. I allowed as how I would be here to clean up a cheap notaries mess, and to call me back. They said they can get "plenty of good Notaries for 65 bucks"!
Well today, they called and asked me if I was at the closing (that they had called me about yesterday). I mentioned that I would have been if they had met my fee! Confusion abounds. Said they'd call me back. Right!

Well, they DID call me back. We agreed on a fee that was more than I originally quoted, I went and on arrival, the borrower told me his package had not arrived. I asked him why he told me on the phone that it was there. No answer to that. I called the ND and they told me the "package was lost in the hub" whatever that means. I called the LO and he said it showed as delivered, so Fed Ex must have delivered to the wrong address. There were only 2 houses on that street, directly across from each other, so I went with the borrower to check the other house, and there it was. So, I was able to gloat just a little more on ND, did the signing, and now hope I get paid!
BTW, Notary Direct is the correct company. Nations Direct won't call e anymore since I turned them down last time they called with explicit reasons why I wouldn't work for them.
