OT-Addiction Confession

Ok I'm going to come clean and admit to my addiction. I just don't know if the 12 step program could help me though. Last night I had an extremely difficult time refraining from my addiction. I did however overcome the impulse and decided to wait until after Easter to give in. My 12 year old daughter was with me so that really helped. Had I given in I would have spent $30 dollars on the stuff and then had to try and explain and rationalize my actions to my hubby.

So what is my addiction you ask. I just can't help buying Care Bears stuff for my daughter. I decorated her room in Care Bears. I even made Care Bear curtains. Walmart has these miniature Care Bears hatching from eggs in the Easter aisle. They are 3 bucks apiece. Then in the school supplies area a Care Bear book bag and lap desk. They also had pencils and pens. What did I get? Nothing, whaaaaaa. I took the time to say to myself "Sarah could carry the backpack better than the bookbag and the lap desk had a wierd bean bag thingie that sat on your legs and she just wouldn't understand it". Now the little mini bears I'll get after Easter because they will mark them down to a dollar (I learned that last year when I got her a couple). I should have gotten the pen and pencils but decided to go home with a clean slate. There's always next time. Now I did give in to my baseball/material/sons room issue. I found 3 yards of nice baseball fabric on the dollar bin to be used in the new house.

I do feel better after my confession. But I also must confess that I have absolutely no desire to overcome it. I'd say please help me but that would be a lie. I like my addiction.

Oh you know it. The money. Hehehe. I was thinking of going to Walmart after Easter and getting like 15 or 20 of the mini ones. The idea is when we get relocated I could paint her room sky blue (even the ceiling) and put clouds on it. Then I could hang the Care Bear minis from the ceiling with fishing line and they'll look like they are playing in the clouds like on the cartoon.

Just count yourself lucky that it is something, ie: care bears etc, that you can still find in stores! I have a 9 yr old that has to have nothing but Indiana Jones stuff....have you tried to find Indiana Jones stuff lately? This started 2 years ago with him, thought it would pass, but it just gets worse! I went nuts at MGM last week on our Disney world trip! I bought everything I could find with him on it and put it up for this years Bd and Christmas.
Thank goodness for ebay! LOL!

Re: Gosh, those bears are old

But you know they are cuter than cute. And the smiles they put on my little girls face are priceless.
