OT-HP PHOTOSMART 720 DIGITAL CAMERA

Can anyone offer any assistance, I have new batteries, new memory card, screen keeps saying card needs formatting. Help.... I'm ready to scream.....

Been there, done that.

Do you have a card reader for your pc? If so, plug in the card, wait a few minutes (Hopefully you have windows xp) then go to my computer. The flash will show as letter E or F removable drive. Right click, then left click on format, choose full format, but make sure it's 16 bit you choose. If this doesn't fix it, then it could be the chip was fried by a static discharge.

If you don't have a card reader, then try the above by just plugging in the camera without starting your camera software. Windows xp should recognize it as a drive and you should be able to format it the same way.

MY understanding is to NOT format in Windows. Format it in the camera. The camera may not be able to read it if formatted elsewhere.
