OT - anyone know a good free email service
I am getting rid of my cable modem service and hooked up a DSL on my business line. I am now losing my personal email address. Anyone know of a good free internet email service that I can use for my personal email on the internet that doesn't get a lot of spam? I used to use Yahoo but I get slammed with so much garbage.

Charm - I'm looking for an email acct. for personal use. I currently have adelphia cable but I am cancelling that and using a DSL acct. for my business. It doesn't offer any other email addresses so I have to find something to replace what I had with adelphia. Rather than paying for another ISP I thought I'd just get a free email acct. that I can access through the internet. Problem is a lot of those have a lot of spam as well.

I use both Yahoo and hotmail.(MSN) I use the Yahoo address for personal surfing and such -- shopping that way, the only email address I give out is that one and that is the one that will get junk. I have a cable account for business and keep it clean by not using it the same as I use the Yahoo. My hotmail account I've just had so long I can't break the habit. More than one account keeps me spam free.

Gmail
Mary, et al,
Gmail provides both web and pop3 access to the FREE accounts. Plus, your mailbox has almost 3Gb of space, which most people will have a hard time using.
If you want a free Gmail account, simply send me an email and I will respond with an invitation (all Gmail accounts are by invitation only). Though I have my email accounts with my webhost, I also have gmail accounts for backup and personal use.
(BTW, I believe Gmail even provides specific instrutions on how to configure your Outlook mail client to work with their service.)

Wouldn't recommend a free email account for business? I don't see anything wrong with a free MSN, Gmail, or Yahoo account. I do draw the line with Hotmail though, the name just doesn't set well with me. I know of title companies, lenders and attorneys who have 'free' accounts.
Why do you not recommend using a free account?
