Vonage and faxing

I started using Vonage about a week ago and have not had any problems. I've faxed invoices, HUDs and used the phone with no problems until now. I have been trying to fax a 20+ page fax back and keep getting Comm. Error. I've tried two diferent fax #'s and get the same thing. Now, I'm faxing to a dedicated fax line and it seems to be going thru fine. My question is this, is there a problem using Vonage to send faxes to Efax? It seems the first two #'s I tried were both Efax numbers. The machine connects, the other machine accepts and then after 1-2 pages the line disconnects and displays Comm Error.

On the VoIP and SIP phones I install, we get the Comm Error message when it does not recognize the network..the IP address doesnt' get recognized. I would call Vonage and have them assist you.

Looks like a lot of people were having issues with faxing. Sometimes it's easier to read forums....just like notrot, then to stay on a phone line waiting for the next available representative.

Becca, I had so many problems using Vonage for faxing I gave up and now only use it for voice calls. I still have a dedicated line from SBC that I use for my fax.
I did speak with customer service several times and they gave me a key code to place before the phone #. This worked sometimes but not reliably enough.
I'm sorry but I've forgotten the code but you should be able to get it from Vonage customer support.
