Vonage and faxing
I started using Vonage about a week ago and have not had any problems. I've faxed invoices, HUDs and used the phone with no problems until now. I have been trying to fax a 20+ page fax back and keep getting Comm. Error. I've tried two diferent fax #'s and get the same thing. Now, I'm faxing to a dedicated fax line and it seems to be going thru fine. My question is this, is there a problem using Vonage to send faxes to Efax? It seems the first two #'s I tried were both Efax numbers. The machine connects, the other machine accepts and then after 1-2 pages the line disconnects and displays Comm Error.

On the VoIP and SIP phones I install, we get the Comm Error message when it does not recognize the network..the IP address doesnt' get recognized. I would call Vonage and have them assist you.

Thanx eXpedN_TX...
The Vonage forum link was a huge help. I've changed some of my settings and will give the*99 a try.
Thanks again!

Glad I could help
Looks like a lot of people were having issues with faxing. Sometimes it's easier to read forums....just like notrot, then to stay on a phone line waiting for the next available representative.

Becca, I had so many problems using Vonage for faxing I gave up and now only use it for voice calls. I still have a dedicated line from SBC that I use for my fax. I did speak with customer service several times and they gave me a key code to place before the phone #. This worked sometimes but not reliably enough. I'm sorry but I've forgotten the code but you should be able to get it from Vonage customer support. Let me know if it works for you.
