There should be no list if everyone isn't on it.....

It's a very nice idea but we can't form a cliche just because we don't like someone. Furthermore, the list maker should not be allowed to determine who gets "on" or not. I didnt' give my birthday. Some gave his/her entire birthdate, year and all. Folks, have ANY of you bothered to read the recent news about identity theft. Giving your full or even partial birthdate makes it very easy for someone to get your SS# and all they need is your last name, which would be very easy to obtain off this site. JMHO.

Re: There should be no list if everyone isn't on it.....

FlaMac....you're off base on the 'list', the maker has all of our support on whom isn't added, and it was one, one that is an idiot with a mission to be destructive and disruptive.
Cliché means an over used expression or idea.

This is a clique effort, meaning 'group'....it's everyone who wanted to be on the list. If you didn't participate, that's your choice.
Your handing out free advice to all these threads on ignoring this and that and so on is staring to get annoying. We are (I think) quite capable of making our own decisions on what and to whom we post. I don't think there are any elementary school age posters here.

Hey FlaMac, it's my f****** list. Deal with it.

Frankly, I don't want to put any dissenters on the list. Do you call people you don't like to wish them a Happy Birthday?

Okay, thats a bit overboard.....

I am a huge supporter of the birthday list Beth, and I'm sure your response was just a "shoot from the hip" response, caught up in emotion.

But I think the wording went a bit too far.

My opinion, its your list, you decide who gets on it or not. Not me, not Anyone else on this board...your list, you decide.

Yes, Shane you're right. It was a before the first cup of coffee response. I not only know better, I am better than that. I didn't mean to offend. Sorry Frown

Certainly didn't offend me.... I just know that wasn't your usual response lol

Besides, if we let one person say it, then everyone's saying it, and then Harry loses control of the board right?

You do realize that your full birthday date is public information. It's even online in Florida!

gut reaction as you. You're quick response is forgiven. It IS your list and you CAN do what you want. Good job! I appreciate you sharing the list with us! And by the way, when I read your response, I too was ROFLMAO!

it is YOUR list Beth, and I appreciate that you took charge and moved forward instead of simply griping or saying something should be done.

Yes, Paw, pretty scary. If you read the new laws they are...

talking about passing; you will find that might change soon. Did a signing for a nice young man this morning. 27 years old and has had his identity stolen twice already. Needless to say, there were names on the signature affidavit that don't belong to him. You can call me paranoid, or anything else you want, but identity theft is real whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. JMHO, of course.

You apparently weren't around the boards too much in the past. I too am a victim of identity theft and a major proponent of protecting ones identity and not making private information public. IMO, Florida is way to "open", especially with their internet access.

Come on FlaMac, last I checked...

I stamp my birthday on about 25 documents a day. My commission is listed on the Sec. of State site, and many other listing sites. "The list maker should not be allowed to determine who gets on it?" Wow, I'm floored. I'm actually at a loss for words.

Beth, the mere fact that you took the time to make a list of birthdays so that greetings could be given just shows your thoughtfullness. In fact I thought the same thing you replied about someone trying to control "your" list. Boy if a certain distructive poster was on it I'd hate to see the greetings she would get. I'm sure that somewhere out there in cyberspace an emoticon exists for a pile of poo.

FlacMac

Hello, and Good afternoon,

I kind of see what you're saying, however, nowadays it is very easy to determine your birth date. Through public records searches, etc. I believe that SS#'s should be the hardest thing to get, but in reality, they're not.

Identity theft occurs more and more. This is because of the implementation of certain services such as http://www.netdetective.net . I could simply type in your name OR phone number OR address and your marital status, DOB, etc. are revealed.

On a notary forum, or any forum for that matter, I don't see the harm in spelling out your birth date. A SS# in another thing! So, in regards to your post earlier, I see where you're coming from, yet I don't agree with you about the intent of Beth/MD and/or Charm and/or other board members. If you are a target and somebody wants to steal your identity, it's rather easy to obtain the necessary information to do so.

What I said was not personal or said about any one person...

and if I offended anyone I'm truly sorry. All of us have the right to our own opinion. As I said my main concern for myself, and all of you, was my/your identity. Maybe consider this: you are sharing a list with some folks (only a few thank goodness!), that have proven to be, dare I say, mentally unbalanced. Do you really want to share personal information?

If you do, that's great, because we live in the land of the Free. That said, I just think she'll hound you forever if you leave her out. She is very mean. I doubt she will ever change. I still don't want to be on the list but I appreciate those who took the time and even cared enough to make one. Sorry if that didn't come out in my first post. JMHO, of course.
