Your Laugh for the Day!
At Home Signings - $50 bucks for a 40 mile radius, you better keep calling sweetheart! On a Saturday no less! Gee!! That just made my day. Everyday that passes and you get these Goofy calls for 40-45-50 Bucks "What are these people thinking???" Gas is now close to 2.50/gal.

I just wish that some of these companies "Could just GET IT!" If anyone doesn't know what it cost to run a business out there-they just haven't done their taxes yet. LOL

Kidding aside...
Unfortunately for us, the reality for them is that they are thinking about what it costs THEM to do business and they couldn't care less about what OUR costs are. (And aren't we really doing the same thing in reverse?) In my (our?) "neck of the woods", at least, every month there are several classes being held by various entities pumping out new wanna-be SAs who are willing, it seems, to take almost anything to get some experience. I guess the SSs figure the increased profit margin is worth risking the occasional screw-up in situations where someone with more experience could have dealt with it in a way that might have saved the signing. I see that as short-sighted and penny-wise, but we each must define our own niche. I'm with the rest of you, though -- for me, that ain't it!! ;> Sadly, it does seem like an increasing chunk of our industry is moving in that direction....

I forget who it was that posted some time ago "I'll have to get that approved and call you back," but I wanted to thank you, because I use that line quite often now. Funny, I've never called any of them back though.

i received a phone call the other night for a ss adding to their 'database'. she said our base fee is $50 and that includes up to 100 miles each way. I said, well I am sorry, i am not interested in being in your data base. She said why not? i said because my base fee is more than that for much less mileage, thank you for your call!
they were based out of Cali. dont remember the name. Why dont they get it?

$50 overnight docs...70 for edocs....75 for piggyback. She said the loans were mostly DiTech loans. I told her my base fee for xx miles and my edoc fee and my piggyback fee. Then said it goes up from there depending on mileage and other circumstances (i.e. faxbacks, handholding etc). She was shocked! And then she asked what I would charge if they sent me a lot of work. I told her that my fees are my fees. She said "Well, I guess I'll have to keep looking". I said Okay then, Goodbye. My fees are not unreasonable, but they are definately higher than she quoted!
