"split ship" documents

Going over the instructions for a signing today, it wants me to "split ship" the documents. Send some of the documents to one company, and others to another. Fortunately it's the same delivery service being used and just one account number.

I'm going into the shipping business.

Now this would be bad if we were the ones footing the bill. Is this very common? As I have come across this once.

I have done this several times, It is aggravating when 2 shipping companies are used.

Let me guess! Countrywide Full Spectrum Yes? I hope you let them know that you charge extra for these pkgs-let them know about extra fee asap (they should of told you at the time they set the appointment)
They are rather common and I make a Point of asking when someone calls because they are just Time consuming and not my favorie thing.

Best to You

Teddog

Yeah, I had to find out the hard way. Live and Learn. Sometimes when I get a call I don't always
ask all the necessary ?'s. Fortunately it has almost always worked out. I'll remember to charge the extra fee. Thanks Tdog.

It could be Countrywide. I don't know yet because I haven't received the docs yet. The title company is United Title. The borrower already has his copy. I should be getting my copy in my email shortly. There's also 10+ pages to fax back. I have to get back with them on this. The SS quoted me one price on the phone. When I got the confirmation it had another. They're not even close to meeting my fee.

I'm starting a union. Who wants to join?

I hope you will call them back about the fee!

I get this quite a bit from two particular (Normally low paying) SS's. I won't do their $46 jobs but they use me to go places that no other notaries will go for $175. They notoriously try to send the confirmation with NO FEE or $46. I just send it back with a polite letter saying 'Thanks for the business and I will be putting the job on my schedule just as soon as I receive an accurate confirmation!' It always comes over in less than 5 minutes.

Re: I hope you will call them back about the fee!

I did. They raised it. It's National Notary Agency. This is my first time working with them. I did a search and found some positive things about them. Yes, there's the split shipping and fax backs. But they reportedly pay on time.
