I am currently commissioned in PA. I live and work in PA. I have received a lot of calls from companies for me to do signings in NY but I am not licensed so I turn them down. One today asked me why I don't get my NY commission beings I live on the NY border. Is that possible? I called the DOS but left a message and no one has called me back.

Check the regs for NY. Usually you must work or reside in a state to apply for a notary commission.
