Another Signing Service down the tubes

I guess Superior Signing in Florida has gone by the wayside - without paying its notaries - so, what's new!!!! Just a warning for anyone out there who might have worked for them - I called the title company and was told that they have had problems themselves getting invoices from Superior so they can pay them. The title company that I did the closing for stated that I should send them an invoice and if they haven't paid Superior for the closing, they will send me a check. All phone numbers are answered on an answering machine and no one ever calls back. Web site is "presently under construction" as of the other day. Just thought I would give you all a heads up about this one. I just hate getting stiffed!!!!! I know its part of the business but I still hate it anyway.

Was this Superior with Carlos? I did a few for them last year, never had a problem getting paid, and I liked working with him. I wondered why I hadn't heard from them in awhile.

Carlos / Superior - I loved Carlos! Talk about a nice man...he was very nice and never quibbled with me on fees.

I know, Brenda, there are only a few SS I will even work with, and he was one of them. No hand holding, just do the job and report to him after.
I hope this is temporary for him, and hope he hasn't taken ill.
Never fails, the good ones go bye bye and the thieves (like SOX) remain.

I liked Carlos too and naver had a problem until now. I even went to bat for him a month or so when someone posted about his company.

That's why I am concerned about his well-being: it would be a surprise to me that he just "disappeared" w/o paying hs notaries. It would be so unlike him.....

I used to have his personal phone and email. Tonight, when I have some time, I'll dig back into my emails and see if I can find them. I'll let you know if I have any luck.

I also never had problems with him...he always seem like a nice guy to talk with muchless work for. Unfortunately, since so many have been burnt by many bad SSs that if something like this happens, we truely don't know what to think but to assume that maybe. However, until we have the hard facts, let's not jump over the table and attack him. He might have very well been in an accident and is unable to communicate. He might have very well had a family died or very ill that suddenly became priority....and he might have very well stiffed you. But until we really have the facts, let us give him the benefit of doubt and one or a few of us try to contact him and see what is really going on.

Isn't there someone that lives near him on this board or am I thinking of another board that can go by and check? I'll check on the other board.

I was able to get onto his website. I called him and of course left a message for him to call me back. You can always try to fax him as well. I would suggest that you make sure you document all communications, if it is calling, emailing, faxing or even postal writing him.

IF he is a honorable man with a honable company, he will respond. However, like I said earlier, something could had happened to him that he is unable to communicate. But if he has staff, they too should have the courtesy to call and honestly answer. (give a honest answer, hmmmmmm so far, not many SS's have been good with that either).
