Re: Any recent payment problems with SoCal Signings?
I've done a few & never a problem, however this past week I rec'd a check for too much $$. I sent an e-mail to have them check if they included someone else's pymnt by mistake. There was a reference # that I didn't recognize as one of mine, so am waiting to hear if they want to re-issue or cancel or what.

I'll never know, LOL
They called me for a last minute E-doc last night and I quoted him $150: he asked if I was trying to make a year's worth of profit in one signing...

Re: I'll never know, LOL
I have an issue with them right now for a signing that was a nightmare. She said she would send my additional check, never did and is not responding to e-mail.

She isn't responding to my e-mails/faxes either. Too bad, I
had heard a lot of good things about that company but so far I am not impressed. I received partial payment for my first signing with them and I'm trying to collect the balance. It's only $15 and I know it's not much but now it's really starting to piss me off.

Nightmare Signing 400 pages
I am not impressed, 400 pages first and second and the Gentleman is in a hospital bed with crippled hands. 5 hours signing and every page has to be initialed and if the husband/wife only signs the other has to initial? Who came up with this bright idea??? $125 for 1st and 2nd eDOC "rush" signing took it because it was down the street. They are doing me a favor by paying me $125 because the lender is a real tight wad and doesn't pay higher. DUHHH the borrowers pay and DUHHHHHHHH the HUD shows $300. Hey thanks for the big favor. I felt so bad for the man having to go through this, to bad he doesn't have a POA but OMG to have this man go through this was terrible.

Re: Nightmare Signing 400 pages
125 for a first and second edoc is too low regardless of the borrowers hands. When you realized how long it was going to take you should have called the ss and let them know they either needed to pay you by the hour or reschedule after he gets a poa. If they agree to an hourly ask for a confirmation and let them know they have 10 minutes to deliver and you will confirm receipt of confirmation with your office. But if they aren't willing to at least agree orally then good bye. I look at it like this you have a plumber come to fix a pipe. This job normally takes about an hour to do. But because of the unusuall construction of your house the plumber tells you that it's going to take longer and his hourly charge is xx. Then you say yes or no and you go from there.

Re: Nightmare Signing 400 pages - the voice of experience.
Experience begins to hack away at our sugar coated exterior. I love what this business has done for me. Things are more in black and white for me than ever before in my life.
You just weigh everything out and make your objective decision. It's not an emotional choice all the time any more.
You either decide to do, or you do not. It's not a personal afront against the title co or ss who wants more than they should get from you.
It's just business. It's their choice to pay you fairly or to shave you down to nothing. Fair is good, shaved bald? Not so much.
If you are a signing service low-balling the TCs at $100 - $125 then notaries a straight $60...for the same job they got from the TC for $145...I think that will eventually backfire on you....jmho.
Good post SarahBeth...what county will you be in when you get here?

I'll be in Erath county. It's a dry county. I didn't even know what that was till last night. But you know the first night we were there, there was some drunk dude talking to us in the hotel lobby. He was served at the hotel bar.
