Anyone cancel because docs are late?

Just curious how the rest of you handle the never ending saga of, "I'm sending them now". Argh...I've been hearing that since 2 for an appointment at 1. Now here is the question. If I dont leave for my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th appointments soon my whole night will be shot. It is 3 hours past the original appointment time should I wait or give up and head on my way?
I just dont feel right making the borrowers with on time docs wait all night for me.
TIA

If my timeline isn't met I pass the appt. unless the company is willing to reschedule.

You would seriously consider inconveniencing 3 other appointments because one company couldn't do their job properly?

This should be a no brainer. if you can and are willing to tack it onto the end of your day, fine. If not, they can either reschedule tomorrow or find another notary to do it.

You should always give the SS/TC a drop dead time for the docs. Once you've reached that point, call and explain that you have other appointments and you cannot put those off to wait for their late docs.

Many times they will ask you to try and fit their appointment in later in the evening, or the following day.

If they do not suggest a reschedule, cancel and move on. Your other clients are paying you to have their appointments happen in a timely manner.

I did once, and sent them an invoice for $25

lets see if I get anything out of it.I was working directly with a lender and the docs didn't come. I had another obligation in the evening that I wouldn't have been able to be back at.

I called the lender, told him that if the docs weren't there in 30 minutes (if I got the docs in the 30 minutes) I would have mkade it to the borrower's about 45 minutes late, but I would have still gotten back for the obligation I had...

The docs never came. I called the lender and cancelled and I told him that I was gonig to send him an invoice because I didn't take any other jobs for that time.. I didn't have any other offers, but he doesn't need to know that...

This was this past Tuesday. Haven't heard back from the lender yet... I doubt that they will pay me anything, but who knows.. worth a try

hey my daughter's pede charges $25 for last minute cancelled appts...Smile
