CT question

Last night, as I was reviewing a set of lenders closing instructions, I saw a passage that non-obligated Registered Domestic Partner/Civil Union person would be required to sign certain docs (like NOBS in some states)...is this something new? The loan was for husband/wife, so that didn't apply, but is this something to watch for down the road here in CT? Just curious.

Yes; and you can expect more like it.

CT having (relatively) recently passed the Civil Union law, we can expect more non-obligated signers. The lenders will also probably apply the same standards to different-sex Domestic Partners as same-sex Unions. Can you blame them?r

Thanks for the reply. It was something that just caught my eye & got me thinking. Not much has been made of this here in CT as of yet, but it is something to watch for down the road, I'm sure.
