FASS
How is this company doing as of today? I got a call and then a confirmation with the wrong fee on it. I am still waiting for a callback to correct the fee. I have been reading some emails and think I might want to cancel out. Also got email package to fill out to work for them really have second thoughts anybody have an opinion to help me make up my mind. TIA

Been with them for years, pay like clockwork. Rarely any problems, and if so, good support staff.

Roger, I almost always agree with you. But not this time.
FASS has been nothing but trouble for me. Confirmations with no fees listed. Missing documents. Absolutely no support after 6pm. LOTS of telephone babysitting. Telling me to drive 50 miles to an appointment when the borrowers tell me they won't sign because they are still shopping the loan. (Fass doesn't pay full fees for no-signs.)
I admit - they do pay like clockwork. But they pay very low in my area.
I had them remove me from their list a long time ago.
Do a search on FASS. You will be reading for hours.

I agree, years ago I took signings from FASS and started to get fed-up when they scheduled an appointment and then borrower said not to come they would not sign. FASS gave my cell phone number to loan rep who called over and over again to get me to go to the appt. FASS also kept calling telling me I had to go. I told them if the borrower says not to come over to his house then I dont go! Finally after about 10 calls from them I did go to appt. and of course there was no one home. I think they paid me $35.00 for the hassle, good riddance to FASS

Re: FASS - another word
Don't get me wrong; I agree with numerous other posters that FASS has majorly deteriorated in some of their dealings with us as people and NSAs; I've proposed suggestions to them that have fallen upon deaf ears. But I was only responding to the operational question of the post, and in that vein perhaps I've been more fortunate than some others.

Re: FASS - Laura's post is accurate for me as well. I do
usually agree with RogerOH, he's got it going on with the business - very astute. Sometimes these types of signings in some states are so small that they take 15-20 minutes tops. Maybe you can get four of them in a day and it makes money for the NSA. But, there are drastic differences from state to state and it is not about snobbery (not that anyone said it was) or rudeness (ditto) it's just that my experience may be very different and needs to be expressed just as Laura's does.
For $50 I love to go down and do a quick 20 min. notarization in town. But look folks, FASS's signings are bullcorn in Tx as they are big packages and they take the full 45 min to an hour...plus all that chatting you get to do. I don't know their fax back procedure so I cannot comment.
Yep - my signing work has slowed down - Yes! It has and will get slower I wager, before it levels out. Taking FASS signings will not make me EARN in Tx. It will make me go in the red with my biz. A dollar made is only made if it is net.
I would much rather serve subpoenas on expert witnesses for $45 or transcribe in my jammies. I will not give away my valuable time to signing services so they can call me and I can jump through my rear to make them $50 or $75 or $200. I like myself way more than that.
