FINALLY!!!!
High speed has finally made it to my neck of the woods. Had it installed yesterday and boy I am a happy happy camper. Did a test to see how long to download 116 pages and what used to take me about 1-1/2 hours...only took TWO MINUTES!!! This is soooo awesome. It sure is nice to start catching up with the rest of the world.
Now if they would only bring cell service here....probably not in my lifetime...haha! But a girl can dream can't she!

Congrats!!! I'm still in snailville but....
not for long!!
There was a list down at the town hall that if ten people would sign up for DSL they would bring it to our area. I was the only person on the list forever... but I finally went around and recruited 10 people myself. I sent it in and they came back and said they needed a hundred. I was so irritated that I went around one day and talked to every single person I came across. It took me ALL day but I got a total of 108.
They gave me 12 months free service and offered me a sales job. They asked me what sales technique I used to get so many people in one day and I told them it was the plain old 'desperation technique'. I was going to use the old Erin Brockovich '108 sexual favors' line but I didn't want to offend anyone and have them take back my free service...
Desperation+Perspiration=DSL Hooray!

When I moved, I lost my SBC (now AT&T) phone service and the DSL, and I sure as hell miss it. I had to down grade from DSL to dial-up to keep my ISP. Valor Communications has DSL but I would have to change Internet services, that means ID's and emails and Valor is not all that reliable. I can download a 3.5mb loan package in about 7 minutes, so untill something better comes along or I move.
