Help with edoc - pcl configuration
I am trying to do as all of you have suggested to us newbies and have printed and studied msg 33325.
I have a new printer (not HP) that is pcl6 and 5e compatible. I tried the edoc practice that BrendaTX was kind enough to outline. Everything downloaded ok, but I can't print the files. I get an error msg on the printer.
Does anyone know of another file to try or have any suggestions on how to make sure I can do edocs before I might actually have to?
Thank you
btw...in msg 33325 Dorothy says to be sure and join here as a premier member for $39.95. Just so you all know why some are hesitant to do it so quickly is because it is no longer $39.95, it is $119. I'm not complaining, I'm just advising that the costs have changed a bit and joining the suggested sites can add up very quickly.

Dell 3100cn error msg 016-799
I can't find any reference to that error message on the Dell site. It prints fine with other type docs.

Thank you. I couldn't find any reference to that error on the Dell site.
I did all of the first things and still get the error message. I don't know why the printer driver wouldn't conform to the printer I'm using since I just installed it, but I'll check and see if I can figure out anything.
Thank you

You may need to download a different driver. PAW could probably shed some light on this for you.

Re: error message help
Thank you both.
I have been on the Dell site all afternoon. I have downloaded the drivers again, made sure that I have selected the correct driver and printer and still having no luck.
I have posted a plea for help on the Dell boards.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a strong feeling that I'm doing something very simple wrong.
Thanks

Re: Here is PCL6 driver for Dell 3100cn printer w/instructions..
Thank you for all of your time and help in trying to help me.
I followed those instructions to the letter on both of my computers and it's worse. I can't print at all...not even the test page.
Guess I get to sit on the phone with India for a few hours tomorrow in trying to figure this out.
Thanks for your help Barbara
