IREP
has the fiasco with the unsigned paychecks been solved? I accepted a signing from for this morning and then remembered this previous thread, I like the people in the local branch but dont want to have trouble getting paid.

I'm shocked that you would have read the threads about the paycheck fiasco, yet still consider doing work for them. It's painfully obvious that it was no mistake that all the checks went out unsigned. It's also disgusting that they told people they would have to Fed Ex the checks back at their own expense to get them signed. Why on earth would you even think about working for a company that would do this to its notaries?
I'm always amazed when people use the demanor of the company employees as justification to work for a company. "They're really nice" shouldn't be a factor in the decision to work for or pass on a company.

Re: FYI
I was mentioning the persons who work at the HFC office not the IREP people, I did speak with the manager at HFC and they will guarantee payment. I did notice the entire thread about this fiasco seems to have disappeared from this board so thought it may have been solved, it is gone from the GMN board also.

Re: IREP and signature guaranteed.
My business was incorporated in 1982 and I have been an independent contractor since that time. This unsigned check situation with IREP is not the first time I've seen that over the years. It has happened from other parties, while not often, several times. The proper proceedure on commercial checks only, is to (1) notify the issuer that you are depositing the check with a signature guarantee (2) on the signature line of the check write "signature guaranteed" (3) deposit the check.
Never had a problem, even with the recent IREP check ! Mine cleared.

Maybe this thread's been retired and forgotten, but my experience with IREP has been smooth. But I don't receive payment in check form. Here in Illinois they give the option of automatic deposit. Obviously that would solve the endorsement issue. Perhaps you might look into that as an option.
