just to make sure...the trustees are NOT the borrowers , right?

The trustees are the borrower. They will sign all the necessary docs as "Jane Doe, trustee".

That's odd. All other docs have borrowers' names. n/m

There will be lots of docs that don't require the borrowers to sign as trustee's. Only the necessary docs will have them sign as trustees, ie the deed of trust, etc.

The cert of trust is used instead of having a title officer review a very cumbersome trust. The cert is to provide the names of the trustees, successor trustees, and powers of the trust. They are wonderful docs, I really wish that NC would start using them.
