Loose General Ack.

I don't know if anyone else has encountered this but lately I have had a lot of lenders include a loose general ackl. not pertaining to any specific document. I usually tell them that I cannot notarize it. Has anyone else see this lately?

Re: Loose General Ack. - Yes- Put them in the trash.

I just talked to the legal department of one of the lenders on Tuesday as to why I could not notarize it. He told me to disregard it. Then on Saturday I get the same general ack. in the mail overnight for me to sign. I will call them on Monday and explain again why I will not do it.

I don't bother calling them to explain it. I just cross it out and write on it "Illegal to notarize loose cert". If they have a problem, they can call me. No one ever has. They have my reason right on the paper.

You cannot notarize a blank document. Sending back one of these acks is like signing a blank check; you have no idea what it may end up getting attached to. If there is ever an error that you need to do an ack for, then be sure you ask for a copy of the erroneous doc.

Re: Loose General Ack. - Put them in the trash.

I use the ACK and Jurats that have an area at the bottom to be filled in by the notary as to what form it goes with. This way there is no chance it will be used for something you never saw....

I once had a LO request a loose jurat be included in the return package... I informed him that for one, there were no form in the pack that needed a jurat and two that it would be illegal for me to do what he was requesting..... He let it go very quickly. Hard to telll what he had in mind!

I seem to always have an extra loose Ack in Countrywide loan packages. The Dot is the only item to notarize in their packages. I always include a note, stating extra Ack not needed.

Re: Loose General Ack. - About Notes...

I see a lot of folks including notes in packages and I am wondering what do you guys write all that stuff on?

If there is a curious situation, I will try to type them a quick letter, or use a form...but the note thing is a lot of work and my handwriting is so bad. Do you include a note in all packages as a marketing/branding thing? If so...not a bad marketing thing...but I figure (based on my exp.) they just toss the notes anyhow.

If the instruction insisted on having me filled and return the loose certificate then I would simply stick a yellow post-it with "not allowed per state notary code xxx".

I emailed you a "form" that I use to send important notes back to the title company and/or lender, plus I always include it in my completion report.

Alrighty...I thought you and I both had one of those work from home jobs where all you do is click a few keys on your computer and generate $20,000 per month! It's so easy! That's what the people on tv say! (I have never played one of them.)

All you have to do is sign up on "000heystupidworkfromhome000.com" and get yourself on a mailing list from h3ll. I have never done it, but I have located some of those mailing lists online and they are around 10,000 each...big business in mailing lists.

The work at home job is the person making the tv commercials and collecting that info. It's a lead generating business for THEM.

Re: Loose General Ack. - About Notes...

I usually put a post-it type note in the package, for anything I need to write a note about. In regards to the extra blank ack, I write a note on the ack itself that it is an extra blank ack, not attached to anything that needs to be notarized, and therefore not used.
