No matter new, old, or looking good for your age...you need to learn your notary rules. It's the law...it's not recommended reading.
I have noticed that people who once thought I was harsh for saying this have been saying this also...I think they came to see that this advice was not to be mean, but to make sure that the notary's commission was protected, as well as the public served by it.

Brenda, I have learnt the wording on both the jurat and
ack. form by heart and probably say it in my sleep too...
I hope that you know that I read pretty much every post by you, and I appreciate your sharing your experiences with everyone.
I know my notary law inside and out and so far, thank god, I've not made a single mistake. It was reading posts from ppl such as yourself, sylvia, paw and Becca and others that have been around for a long time that I decided what to charge, and learnt to be self confident (I know what I'm doing) and not to sell myself short.

That's really a very nice thing to say.

Anon 71.104.50.253... If you study the "Notary" section of the CA Secretary of State website the knowledge you will acquire there is even more important than anything you learn here at Not Rot. This is not to say that the knowledge gained here is not extremely valuable, but you must know CA notary law before you can fully appreciate what you learn here. My not so humble opinion!
