New Signing Agents
Please don't take this the wrong way! We are all here to help you with notarial questions and questions about a particular company or a particular document. We are not here to tell you how to get started in the business (this is something you should have researched before you decided to become a notary and a signing agent), we are not here to tell you which companies are the best to sign up with. This is something we have to learn by trial and error. There are many companies listed on this site and at other sites, just sign up with as many as you can. Read ALL the messages on this board and make a note of companies with a bad reputation for paying their signing agents. Don't believe because you are certified by the NN A that that is going to bring you lots of work. If you are a member of the NNA Signing Agent section check and see how many other signing agents are listed in your area (you may get a shock!) 6 years ago there was lots of work to go around, there were not many signing agents, the NNA was not involved in the signing agent business. Now, thanks to the NNA Signing Agents are a dime a dozen. We are always willing to answer notarial questions and questions pertaining to a particular loan doc. Do not be offended when we refuse to hand over a list of good companies. That is not what we are here for. If you had a bakery or a clothing store would you help someone open up a bakery or a clothing store right next door to you?

Sylvia, maybe now that they heard it from you, they will stop with all the insistent pestering and whining. Talk about something getting old fast!

Only if this is posted. . .
. . .every time the old one drops to a previous page. If someone could remember to post ATTN: New Signing Agents! when the old one disappears, and also mention message 33325, I think the requests would drop significantly.

Re: You are all just haters!
Did a grown up write that? I'm sure it wasn't my 8 year old although it's something that would definitely come out of her mouth.
Nobody hates anybody. I was talking to my husband who is a graphic designer and was trying to describe the frustration on this board from the new people who post. He just didn't get it until I said:
"Just think if you were on a graphic design message board talking about outlines or some advanced topic with fellow graphic artists and then all of a sudden this message comes up asking how to open a photoshop file. How would you feel?"
He understood perfectly after that.

Well said, eb.
MichiganAl is this super hunky guy from Michigan who looks almost identical to a younger Sam Elliot as he appeared in "MASK." Well...in my dreams anyhow. Did I really just say that out loud? I hate it when I do that. I digress...
Anyhow...he was joking...just like I am. He knows Slyvia-Sylvia from Florida is the best. 'Twas only humor, my dear.

Actually, your husband just called me
He wanted to know if I'd seen your sense of humor anywhere. I told him I had not. He understood perfectly.

Al...you are the meanest hater here.
So there!
(An aside: I cannot ever think of "so there!" that I do not recall Linda's post to Richard What's-his-name at least a year or two ago on the other board. It really struck me as funny. I am sure some of you remember.)

LOL. Al...
This is entertaining...Al's a "playa" and he's calling me "babygirl." It's feally runny.

I do understand what you are saying to me, and I do not take it in a negative way. You are correct, and I must perform my own research, and sign up with companies on my own. I appreciate your time, and everyones' time in responding to me. Good luck to everyone.

I don't think there is better notary/signing agent
Sylvia is someone who helped me get started 4 years ago and I cannot thank her enough for the help she has given me. I remember approx. 3 1/2 years ago I had some loan documents from Florida (signer in Calif) and I couldn't figure it out ( I was new) and she called me and said to fax the documents over and she would get back to me!
Well, she got back to me and saved my "you know what" and I would post that I should send 10% of my earnings to her for all the help she had given me and eventually Sylvia got sick and tired of me saying this and asked "Joan where is the money? and I said "The Check is in the Mail!"
What a wonderful notary/mentor/loan signer Sylvia is and we are so lucky to have her contribute to this website and other websites! I would not be the notary I am today without her guidance.
Thanks again Joan

Although I am a new NSA I completely understand the need to protect ones income from new competition. I spent 25 years in the automotive service industry(Dealerships) and no one is more protective of their job then a mechanic. So to learn anything you really had to do your own research. A friend of mine talked my into becoming a L/O (which seems to be a natural enemy of the NSA) and I have since become a NSA. To the point I just want to thank everyone who contributes to this and other forums. Most answers are here for the reading. Thanks again
