OT sunless tanners

What do you use? Why do you like it? How much is it? Getting ready to go away with my hubby I had to think about this. Not all Cali girls are tan and I could use a little sunless tanner. Suggestions please.

Banana Boat is the best in my opinion. Always mix in a little lotion with it. Seems to help with the streaks. Use it this time of year until I can get to the beach.

Jergens has one out since last year. It does not "grab" as much. What I do with any tanner is exfoliate, exfoliate and then exfoliate. I use a lot of moisterizer right before. Grabbing becomes less of a problem.

Don't know much about sunless tanners, but after you get your golden glow try Ocean Potion Lotion to keep your tan longer. Ocean Potion is made in Melbourne, FL and you can get it at Walmart.

P.S. I see that Aveno has a new bronzer lotion.

Re: OT sunless tanners - Becca - Oh wait, isn't this where

you say, "ahoy, mate! I have a real tan because I am the woman of a Popeye-the-Sailor-type manly-man? My legs are long, lean and tanned liked there's no word which ends with -loma."

Yeah, I'm jealous - what of it?

LOL, Brenda...

We are leaving tomorrow for SunFest in West Palm Beach for a week. I've spent the last four days preparing and provisioning the yacht for our journey. Today, I did last minute shopping and stocking and of course, had my hair, nails and toes done. I bought two new suits and I'm ready to shove off. I'll miss the baby girl and the fishes, but am in need of the lazy time off.

Long legs???? I'm only 5'2" and I can only wish for lean legs at this point. However, I am very tan.

Re: LOL, Brenda...OT

I am 5'2" and have some pretty long ones myself Becca...I'll give a tall girl a run for her money. The rest of me is the short part.

I am of Italian/Sicilian heritage so tanning is a problem. However, I do use Ocean Potion. It's a great lotion. I like it after swimming.

Re: LilyMD...I am of Italian/Sicilian also....I border

on corpse white! This year I think I may be going all natural. I am so tired of trying self tanners. I just wish there was some miracle pill that made you tan all over without the blotches and streaks and the uneven way it wears off. I have used one facial tanner after another and none of them tan my face except for right around my mouth! Now that is attractive! NOT. I give up! I am a fair skinned, brown haired Italian with a German temper and I am going white this year!:-)

I'm so olive complexioned, I look like I belong in one of the Godfather movies. I don't have a "white" patch on me. On the other hand, my husband is a pasty white German.

My grandmother would say your light skin speaks from the north!

I just want to be able

to wear shorts without being capable of lighting a city in the event of a blackout.

Tips

Tanning lotions are much better in quality. The lotion-type ones work best for me.

Use an exfoliating sponge in the shower. Lightly polish, don't sand and irritate your skin.

If you have dry skin, put on regular non-tanning lotion. Leave it on for a few minutes to let your skin soak it up. This prevents blotchiness.

Put tanning lotion on. Be careful to massage on in many directions, not just up and down. Go very light on joints and feet. They get darker than other areas.

Wash palm of hands right away.

Don't put clothes on lotioned areas for 15 minutes.

I, too, could use my legs for emergency lighting. The above tips work for me.
