Printer Problems
I have a Brother MFC 8220 printer. It's a 5 in one. Lately it's been having printing problems and I'm not sure if it's something that can be fixed, or if it's just time for a new printer.
I know it's not a toner issue, as it happens even when I put a new cartridge in. It's also not a drum issue, as I just replaced the drum 2 or 3 months ago.
When I print out documents there is about a 1 inch strip down the left side of the page that is noticably lighter than the rest of the page. If I receive an incoming fax about 1/3 of the page on the left side is almost unreadable (I use efax for my business so it's not affecting that aspect of it).
Like I said, I've replaced the toner, replaced the drum, cleaned the new drum, cleaned the lens inside the printer, nothing has helped and it seems to be getting progressively worse.
Anyone have any suggestions? Or is it time to send this sucker to the printer graveyard? It's about 2 years old with a page count of 83,000.

I have the same model and it was doing the same thing, especially when I would make a copy. I replaced the drum and that took care of it. I have noticed that the drum and toner wear out prematurely sometimes, but I buy the generic stuff. Good luck!
