Question Re: HP 1300 Printer & Image Files:
I have an HP 1300 printer that will print 'image' files using the PCL5e driver but I cannot figure out how to get it to auto-select between letter & legal size documents. I can set the printer to print either size but the whole job is printed as either letter or legal size. Anyone have any advice on how to get the HP 1300 to autoselect? I can get the printer to auto-select the paper size when printing with the PCL6 driver but, with an image file, w/that driver, printing is as slow as molasses flowing in the Arctic.
I've looked through previous posts &, unless I missed something, have found nothing that address's this issue. Thanks in advance for any info!

Are you sure the image file is mixed sizes? Most image files that I get are all scanned to the same size, which results in printing on legal size of all pages.
Make sure your printer is configured to support both sizes and automatically select pages. You can download a small (3 page) test file in PDF format from my website to test your printer when configured with the PCL5e driver.

Thanks for the file link, PAW. I still only get all the docs in your file to print letter size. I set every dialoge box to Auto or Auto Select but it still comes out letter size.

Email me so I have your email address and I will send you some "pictures" of how I have my 1300 w/PCL5e set up. Also, you may wish to consider downloading and installing "LogMeIn". I have successfully been using this on client computers to "fix" their problems and install options and software remotely.

ED, I have one at work and I have figured out how to get it to auto-select. Of course I am not looking at the screen right now so I can't walk you through it. Give me your e-mail and on monday, I can help. It took me about a week and drove me crazy but then it was so easy it was like DUH..open your eyes and smell the coffee woman!
I will be glad to help you or get on the phone and walk you through it.

Re: Problem Soved!!!
I finally solved the problem. Thanks to BarbaraL CA & Sherri NWA & especially PAW for the screen shots. The problem lay in Preferences>Paper Quality>Source is --- I had to jog between 'Printer Auto Select' & 'Automaticaly Select' a couple/few times & then it started printing the test image PDF that PAW had on file & supplied and now the other image file (of loan docs) is printing corredtly. Thanks again!!
