Readers Digest version - recap of Michigan meeting
The Michigan notaries group met again today and what a meeting! Good food, good friends and good talk about notaries, both in and out of state.
As with the March meeting, no specific agenda was followed. To the other patrons in the eatery, this was simply a group of friends meeting for lunch. Unfortunately the individual within the real estate industry who had been contacted to speak to the group had to bow out due to possible conflict of interest ramifications. But we made our own topics which included discussions on everything from personal signing experiences, to the amendment to legislation for notaries in Michigan, to standardization of certification for notaries, to “how would you handle this” questions, to sharing of jokes.
Despite the fantastic group that was there, IMO there was one thing that could have made the luncheon better: a larger turnout. Before you get your dander up, Dorothy and Janet, we know you were there in spirit. For those others who couldn’t make it for this meeting, I hope you can make the next meeting. Even if you have to leave before the meeting is officially over to make a closing, I think we’ll understand. And for those who may be in the western part of the state and don't want to travel east of Lansing, suggest a location and put out the invite!

MI meeting attendance numbers
According to Renee Kovacs, who coordinated this month's meeting, 10 people RSVP'd they would be attending. But by 11 am the morning of the meeting, that number dropped to 4. For the April meeting, 15 had RSVP'd they would be attending; the end number for that meeting was 6.
