All Notaries and Notary Signing Agents are invited to attend. We’re going to have presentations by an Aflac Agent (who is also a CNSA) to let us all know about personal health insurance for those who do not have it. We have asked, but has not yet confirmed, but have asked a Business Insurance representative to attend and give info on Business Liability Insurance products.
Additionally, we will be going over the new LA county recorder notary certificate completion requirements.
There will be door prizes and a white elephant gift exchange. Participation in the White Elephant exchange is voluntary.

Well, ever get a gift you don't want, don't like or can't use? Well that's a White Elephant. It's like re-gifting a gift you received.
Yes, $20 will be payable at the door.

"We’re going to have presentations by an Aflac Agent (who is also a CNSA) to let us all know about personal health insurance for those who do not have it."
Why are you having an AFLAC agent give this presentation? AFLAC doesn't sell health insurance. Their products are designed to supplement your existing insurance. And unless things have changed in the past few years since I worked for them, what they can offer on an individual basis is fairly limited and much more expensive than what they can offer through employers.
Anybody without health insurance should focus on getting a real plan, not a supplemental plan. AFLAC agents are definitely not qualified to give a presentation on this subject.

That's a good point. I'm about to dump my Aflac because what I'm paying isn't worth the benefit anymore.
Can I suggest a NASE representative (Nat'l assoc self employed) or even a independent insurance broker? When I was self employed I had a good Blue Cross plan and it wasn't that expensive.
(Not trying to rain on your parade Terri, just a suggestion)

Can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time. The luncheon is not about insurance etc. it's about networking with other notaries, talking, exchanging ideas, information, coverage areas, making friends and referrals.
