Starting a new thread re: Charm
Starting a new thread since I didn't want the first one to get lost in the shuffle of the day. Has anyone heard anything from Charm? Maybe Sue from CornerStone? I'm hoping all is ok.

I have talked to her (last week) and got to talk to that sharp little sidekick of hers, too. (Her daughter.)
She's still got concerns, but if anything of consequence comes up, she promises we'll be advised by her husband (I have heard he is a cutey pie.) and they'll keep us updated.
The daughter advises Dad has taken a turtle back to the river - a rescue mission. LOL

I should have added she may be having some tests run. The part about her hubby updating us sounded ominous. That's only if they were to do surgery or she was under the weather afterwards.

thanks Brenda. Are you at liberty to say what perhaps may be going on with her?

I think an accurate way to state it is that Charm just feels like crap...draggy and she's not sure why. No need to speculate because I do not know, actually.
I think she just needs a good old fashion ice water flush out. That'll cure what ails you. You'd be so glad when it was over that you'd never feel ill again.
Seriously, I operate under the assumption and prayer that it's just one of those things that never gets a name but keeps you refocusing on what's important. Sometimes we don't get to control or name everything in spite of the doctors wishes that they could. Sometimes our bodies are smarter than we are.
Charm is still working and doing her job as perfectly as before, but I'd say she's just resting more right now. I really don't know squat, if you want to know the truth.
I have every belief that our Charm will be well and that this is just one of those crappy mysteries that makes you feel so grateful you are okay, but sort of sheepish like...was I really sick??? We'll celebrate that soon.
I do not minimize her feeling badly, I just refuse to speculate that her need for absence at this time is anything but a passing mystery.
When you do not give these things a name, you don't give them so much power over the peace of mind of the person who needs it.
Laugh if you will, but my Policy Manual (aka Bible) says that the power of life and death lies in our words and how we choose to use them. (Proverbs 18:21 ). Therefore, where Charm is concerned my words will only report that she'll be up and on her feet and better than ever once this interlude is over.
How we speak of others and how we talk about ourselves eventually does seem to shape reality. Whether or not you believe in the Bible, that's something I see to be a relative truth in all the theaters of life around me.
I did not always believe that the Bible had so much wisdom to offer me, but find it to be an excellent text for what ails me and/or my mind now to say the least now that I am older and wiser .
Send me $25 and I have a nice prayer cloth for you made from one of Benny Hinn's old suits trimmed nicely with a lock from his comb-over.

Brenda, those are the words of a good steward
I only pray that more people would read the Policy Manual and abide by it, because there would be more people like you.

Re: Brenda, those are the words of a good Mistarella - OT
WARNING - DO NOT READ if you are not interested in my philosophy on things!!!
Mistarella - Thanks for the kind words. It's lots of humility that got me here. I am clear on how insignificant I am if I am just living for myself. I am also clear that if I just tell a person "what's up" it is pretty hollow...living the "what's up" is the hard part and what I see lacking in all but a few really significant people in my life.
Believe me, I was no easy student to win the attention of. As far as how people live their life....I went of my way to focus on ALL ABOUT ME, and to be in clear rebellion of anything that would make my life peaceful and simple. Nothing surprises me or makes me feel another is less than I because I know myself and how human I am.
I have gone to great lengths to give myself a lot of trouble in my lifetime...I was very blessed and fortunate to "get it" before it was too late. Oh there were some close calls!
People get into fixes that they did not necessary choose to get into but sometimes they just did not know a better way...now if they stay there...that's yet another story.
Finally, I figured it out...it's all about getting totally at peace with things...and that's something that, to me, has to come from a source far greater than I. My beliefs are very fundamental, but as you can tell from me making light of some of the pulpit pounders I do not necessarily think they have chosen the fundamental route. If you go straight to the Policy Manual, you figure that out.
The rest of it is prostitution of something very sacred and it's all about dollars, greed and power. The way those types make up their little kingdoms (even in the local pulpit) is by using fear, shame and guilt...those are abhorent and disgusting methods to me. Not all are that way, but so many have lost sight that the position of authority in one's worship place is not to accrue fame and assets for oneself.
The worth of a person is not in how another perceives them or judges them. We are all here for an important and specific purpose, IMHO. Whether or not we choose to accept that mission is up to the individual.
Now only if I can live up to my own standards...

Brenda...tsk tsk tsk
“WARNING - DO NOT READ if you are not interested in my philosophy on things!!!”
How very clever to insert your disclaimer at the forefront of your message. How would one know if they had an interest in your philosophy on things, prior to reading your philosophy on things? This post is disturbing to me for several reasons, the first being the seemingly transparent effort to convince or substantiate the content of your writings to yourself , and secondly, that the content itself is often at odds imho, and lays generic referencing to the ‘manual’ that has many different interpretations for many people. To become “totally at peace with things”, one must abandon strong opinions and deny the adoption of any philosophy. So little in our lives is truly under control. It starts before we are even born. We exercise no control over who our parents are or when or where we are born. Our parents pass on to us a set of genes that determines what we look like. Will we be male or female, tall or short? Will our skin and hair be that of the majority or that of a persecuted minority? Will we be born physically or mentally handicapped? Will we be born in a free land with many opportunities for education and wealth or will we have to endure a harsh, rock-scrabble existence? All of us are dealt a hand at birth, and God expects us to play that hand to the best of our ability. Life itself … is a major tranquility destroyer! Distress and anxiety under gird much of the restlessness and disquietude that fills our lives. They are produced by the fear, uncertainty and insecurity, seeming to be at the whim of circumstances and people beyond our control. Our minds become troubled because we fear what is happening or may happen to a loved one or us. We worry that the consequences will be difficult to overcome, embarrassing, physically painful, damaging to our reputation or that we will be overwhelmed and suffer great loss. The very thought that “you have “it” figured out” would lend itself to the true inner discovery of never being able to understand “it”. To understand “it”, you would need to be blessed with fullness of character maturing into the image of God, who is perfect. To understand “it”, you must not harbor the capacity to find methods “abhorrent and disgusting”. You must not aver “The worth of a person is not in how another perceives them or judges them.”, and yet thrive on your peers very acceptance of your thoughts and values. You must accept the ways of the world, albeit about dollars, greed or power. The peace that Jesus offers comes only as the result of God's calling by His Spirit through which He works in and through us to bring us into loving submission to the way of peace. That is the way of daily talking and walking with God, coming to know intimately His faithful, loving use of His wisdom and power to complete His glorious purpose in our lives. It produces a peace that passes all understanding because then everything is under perfect control ( Romans 8:28-30 ).
This local pulpit speech was written out of sheer boredom…and the fact that I felt the need to rein B_Tx in….LOL For does not the shepherd forsake the entirety of his flock, to rescue the one lost sheep whom has wandered astray?
For the rest of you peace seekers…try this…Ommmmmmmmmmm……Ommmmmmmmm

But, Winny, you talk so purty...
I'm always dazzled. You know you have a harem of followers here. If only we could see you in that purple notary gear of yours...oh, and those roller blades! We want to see you in your roller blades, keyboard in hand...then, and only then, we can die happy.
Yours truly - Brenny

Re: Charm
Truely wish I had more substantive news...but, Charm is doing as well as can be expected after being admitted to the hospital for the typical 'lab rat' treatment one endures when the attending physicians cannot isolate the cause of the ailment. The current treatment appears to be isolation, detail of all 'intake', careful monitoring, and consistant testing. Hopefully this institution of medical brilliance will discover the root cause soon, write a script or two, and send her home where she may return to her wonderful charming self.

Winston and Brenda. Thanks for the info.
And as far as "the" book goes. It's just a manual for life as far as I'm concerned. Thanks

I haven't talked to Charm in a couple of weeks as I was out of town for 10 days. I do know that she has been in the hospital this week and the doctors are still trying to figure out what exactly is going on with her. I'm hoping she'll be back to her normal routine soon. I miss her postings but even more than that, her notary services!! Hopefully, she is getting some well deserved rest!!! Best wishes to you Charm!! Susan
