Strange phone calls

Has anyone else been getting calls about notarizing a translation of a diploma into english( looked up company which was OIL related) and another wanting to know how many KINDS of NOTARIES we have in Houston ( for that company it sold herbal products but some was Indian)I don't remember how the lady worded the questions BUT she was trying to find out about Jurats and different types of Notarizations.I finally refered her to Secretary of State and no, I didn't give her the phone number.Sounded like an "NDIA market scam" they talk about on S.O.T.

No...haven't gotten that one, but I get lots and lots of calls on how much would I charge to go to Tomball for a job (from College Station) because Aunt Penny's half-sister Myrtie needs some loan papers signed...how much would that be? What do I charge per mile?

I don't tell them because it stinks of a person who wants to get into the biz and is taking short cuts by posing as a bwr.

I got out here and just started swimming hard as I could. I hate it when someone thinks they can skip over the baby steps to start running.

What do you think those calls are about?

Brenda,I really think they are going to try to outsource somehow, someway. It's really scarey about outsourcing and what kind of information they are going to be putting out there.India is real famous for that.We bust our a.. to try and make an American dollar for people like them to come over here and take from us again.I Think WE do enough for other countries with them coming over here with illegal crap.If I'm wrong about them, I will say I'm sorry.
Didn't know if I was allowed to put their names on here since I wasn't sure of the info I looked up

Interesting spin. I had not thought of that.

Maybe they are starting a company in India which will do scheduling.

FASS already uses India to schedule.

"It's okay - you just go few minutes. We pay the $50. It's okay to fax everything back, too."

Yeah, right.

for a while I was getting lots of inquiries about what I would charge for a potential notary job, I figured it was some new notary trying to find out what the going rates were, I would
quote low so they would not think there was really any money in doing this. They always said they would call me back when they knew what time they needed me to come but none ever did which ws no surprise.
