They keep getting cheaper

Nations Direct just called and asked us to do a 1st and 2nd for $50.00. We counter them with our standard fee and was told that was out of line for our area. They could and would have to find someone else for that fee.. I told them to have a great day and thanks for calling she was not amused.

Sorry folks but at these rates we will all be out of business. Just my vent for the day

Whoever they find to do these 1st and 2nd's must have no business sense whatsoever.

The printing of four sets of docs (usually at least 100 pages or more per), time involved in printing, electricity, wear and tear on machines, travel to the borrowers, time spent with borrowers (at least 1 1/2 hours), and travel back to your home base.

$50 does not even begin to cover any of that.

Thats why I didn't argue with her but told them to have a nice day. People we are in business to make a profit.

They keep calling me for $ 50.00 closings also. I tell them my fee. And I get they will have to get it approved. And I they don't call back. With costs of business going up. The people that take these closings for $50.00 must be in it for fun !! How can you make a profit with that fee !!

At $50 for a 1st and 2nd, the NSA will be out of business soon. No way can they turn a profit unless they do about 10 of them a day.

Actually, at $50 for a 1st and 2nd, one will never made a profit, no matter how many one does in a day. It is a mathematical impossibility.

I got a call to do e-docs for $75. I told them my fee and he said, "well I'll put that in your file and when we get any for that rate, I'll call you."
Yeh, I'm holding my breath.......................

Re: My recent story...

On EOM, I got a call from them and they said..."are you available?" I said, "Well, if the price were right, I suppose I could be persuaded. I don't really want go out again tonight. Plus, I have to get a babysitter." It was 6pm for an 8pm.
They said "I have the e-mail docs ready."
I said, "My price is $xxx.xx."
"Ohhh...uhhhh, could you take $xxx.xx?"
"Nope, I don't really want to do another signing today" ( I had already done 5)
"Alright, we'll take it"

And I "got 'er dun"
Mind you, this was the first we have done in a LONG time, for them.
