Those with no DSL...

I now know how slow is to download docs without dsl.
One day my dsl was down. I had to use a AOL account that I have for backup, oh my god!
It took an eternity to download a simple file.

I have backup for everything!

4 printers conected to my pc
One cartridge for everyone.
Paper to print dozens of loans.
dsl, aol dialup, laptop with wireless and if my account is down I can just go down the street and get
conected.
car with navi, and laptop with microsoft gps(streets and roads).

And with all this equip. to back up my office and to be sure that a signing will happen and SS still
asking me for a 80.00 dollar e doc signing, I just laugh at them. LOL.

I use cable connection. I can't imagine anyone trying to be in business without DSL or cable.

No, some people don't have dsl because there is none in their area.

I have tried begging my ISP nicely for DSL. One day a technician told me if I could get 25 people in my area to call and request it that it would happen. I go to work on it, all the people around me are either elderly and don't even have a computer (very rural area) or they said they just don't use it enough to upgrade. I just gave up. My only other option is to have a dish installed, $500 installation alone. Can't go there. Wish I could. So I spend a lot of time on edocs, but I dream of DSL.

Hey Pam were buying a house in an area with no dsl. My hubby was saying something about directv no longer doing internet. I'd be interested in discussing how you make things work. Could I email you? Oh and my profile is hiden by request of notrot until I get established in Tx so if you could provide a link to your email.

Re: Hughesnet is the one I was talking about.

They will install the dish and it is my understanding that it will be exactly like DSL.

Re: Hughesnet is the one I was talking about.

Not exactly. Sat high speed is slower than DSL/cabple but faster than dialup. Also it is subject to the same loss of signal Direct TV has with overcast or stormy days/nights.

Re: Hughesnet is the one I was talking about.

So you're saying that it's still not high speed internet and you loose signal when there's thunderstorms?
