Today's phonecall from ServiceLink

I get a call from Andrea at Service Link who asks me if I could do a closing tomorrow afternoon. I tell her that yes I am available for that closing, but I will charge $75.00 to go there with overnight docs. (Now that is $25 below what I normally charge, but I live in the middle of nowhere, and this is the absolute first closing I've ever had within 5 miles of my house) Andrea says "Why do you think you can charge that much?!" (she said that in a very snotty tone) My reply was "Because I have over 16 years experience closing loans, 10 as an escrow officer, over 6 as a real estate paralegal. I have closed over 9000 loans, I am good at what I do, and you have never had to have a correction on any closing I have ever done for you." She says "oh, well if I can get that high fee approved I'll call you back". LOL Good thing I wasn't holding my breath waiting.

Are you serious? She thinks that's high? Does she think we're supposed to do this for free so she can make her commission?

Yep - once SL called me with lots of bully tactics to tell me how dumb I was to charge $75 for local.

They called THREE times and the last two were such ugly remarks to me that I disconnected two times. The last time I told them it was becoming harrassment.

Sorry just realized I wasn't linked. I once had a SS contact me for $55.00. I just laughed and told her to call the newest number she could find in the directory. She hung up immediately!

I got one today also from Service Link. I just told her I would hold on while she gets it approved. It was approved. Also was told that there were others in my area that charge $50. With gas almost $4.00 I said good luck to them.

LOL. If there were others in your area who would do it for $50, why didn't they call them? LOL

2 months ago servicelink was ok,

at least for me, They would pay 75$ overnight (close) and 25$ more for edocs. Then a couple weeks ago they called and tried to tell me my "normal" fee for them was 65$ with 20 for edocs. Like I don't know what I"ve been paid? I was very disappointed in them. I did several in march for them, none in april, now this, are they having trouble?

Re: 2 months ago servicelink was ok,

Nearly a year ago I did a signing through an SS. I had to report status in to Service Link.
In conversation I told them of the bad attitude of the SS guy. The gal suggested we bypass the SS and work direct with me and that would get me a higher fee. She said they had several high dollar commercial accounts also. She just totally snowed me because when they called me for a fee schedule it was cheaper than what I had gotten through the SS. I was told due to the volume they were going to send my way. I think I've done all of two signings for them. So I'm not surprised at anything with them.

I just had a signing from them....balked at my $75 fee (for overnight docs), then I see on the HUD they are making $450....will definetly rethink if they call me again.
