Another BRAVE anon

If you had heard these redundant SIMPLE questions thousands of times, you'd be short too.
Quit giving them the answers they want: let them look like the rest of us.
You'll notice that anyone who answered curtly doesn't ask questions w/o using the search feature first.
We are all glad to assist someone who helps themselves, first.

No lesson is being taught by being rude. If no one answered then he would of found it for himself.

If your annoyed by answering too many questions... Then DON'T answer them. Simple. Why be rude.

To ANON re: WOW & Joshua Brogden

I didn't give Josh and answer because I didn't want to... my comment was to Becca.

But in regards to why I did not answer... Josh has been asking lots of 'questions' for the last couple of days and he has been given good advice on Searching and Thread 33325. (Look it up for yourself if you don't believe me.)

If he chooses to ignore the advice he has already gotten and then get upset and act like we are the meanies... well then... he brought it on himself.

Go ahead and keep answering the questions... and he'll just keep asking them. We already gave him the fishing pole and the bait and he's still sitting on the dock asking if he can have some dinner!

And to Josh... nobody is perfect. Why don't you try starting over with a new attitude. Instead of "What can I do... how do I?" questions, why don't you follow the advice you were already given and come back and say... "Hey I've got this idea... what do you guys think of it?" and we'll tell you and maybe give you another one.

Now maybe you think I'm a big meanie.... but I'm giving you good advice.

Beware, some can have a wicked sense of humor

Although I am sometimes tempted to post some of the companies that you've just been given, I can not deliberately mislead you. All of those companies are great for getting work from and you will gain a lot of experience. In fact, they will probably keep you very busy. That is unless you have a desire to get paid, then you might want to reconsider working for them. They are all notarious slow or no payers. (I've probably incurred the wrath of many on this board by saying this, please forgive me, but it was too much like throwing them in the lions den).

Now having said that, I'll ask a question I asked just last night on this very same board. Where and who told all of the new people that this was a great board to come on and ask all kinds of elementary questions? I'd really like to know. Was it a class that was taught because if it was, you got cheated because the types of questions we've been getting in just the last few days tells us that you were not taught what you should have been taught. Coming onto this board and without reading a single post before asking for the store shows very bad manners at the very least. Would you go into a room full of strangers and announce in your loudest voice, "Look at me, I'm wonderful! I'm your new competition and I want all of you to tell me and as quickly as possible everything I need to know to be a success in this business so I can take all your business from you that you've worked hard for." Because that is what is being done on this board and I'd like to know who is pointing people in this direction and letting them think or maybe even telling them that this is where to come to finish your education and get all your answers. You can get almost all your answers here, but you must work for them and take some initiation for yourself (and not just post the question expecting to be spoon fed the information). I'll sorry if someone sold you a "bill of goods" about this profession, but did you do any research or due deligence for yourself? This is not a good time to be entering this field, notaries and NSA are being churned out by the 100's and all at a time when refi's are way down so you have an increasing supply of notaries chasing a dwindling demand for signings. You are living Econ 101 -- supply and demand theory.

I THINK THAT IS JUST ABOUT ENOUGH!

I have been on this board for at least two years. I have not begun to post until such time that I feel I am no longer a newbie. I have read. Since I have not posted to build into the group I am seen as an outsider. That is fine. I try to help where I can. I have to shake my head also at some of the basic questions being ask.
This obsurdity of people posting anon because they feel they will be reamed if they stand up for what they think. This obsurdity of those who post lightly meekly stating that apologies and saying how they know their post is going to get them reamed.
And the joking about blooth baths.
THEN THE ULTIMATE! Posting leads that seem sincere but those of us who have been around know better. Anyone who attempted to post these as valid leads should be ashamed of themselves. Unbelievable to think we are in the same profession!
Any newbie who wants help or has a question, feel free to email me and I will give you whatever direction I can. My God people this is a flippin bay of pigs! My email is in my info and my website may have some things to help you.

No question is a dumb question if someone doesn't know the answer. It only becomes dumb when left unasked.
No one should fear asking questions!

lulu...

My frustration with some of this is that if you read over the posts of the last few days these people have been given excellent help and good advice which they obviously didn't take. Well then????

You can lead a horse to water.....

And another thing... go back and read thread 33325.... read it. It is a WEALTH of info. If I would only have had it when I started out..... I would have made twice the money twice as fast. These people are about as dumb as they come if you ask me. They have no idea or appreciation of the GIFT they have been given when they are told to read that thread. This info didn't come from books... it came from the experience of others that have DONE IT...

I'm just disgusted with this whole thing.

I guess I just take it more in stride and realize that there are givers and taker in this world.
I would like to live my life by the 'Pay It Forward' motto. What goes around comes around. When it comes around to me I'd like it to be good.

Ok, there are no dumb questions...

But you've got to admit there are lazy questions and there are selfish questions. And frankly, weeks like this when there's one posted just about every hour, it gets to some us. You said there are givers and there are takers. We're on here every day giving and giving and giving. But it's never good enough for these takers. And they're the worst kind of takers, they're takers with an attitude. Gimme gimme gimme. Gimme your best companies, gimme your secrets for success, gimme the answers to all the questions that I could have found myself with a little effort. Then what do these takers do when you say enough already? They get snippy. And when they think they've absorbed enough, they go out and work for $40 or $50 and give the companies listed in this thread all the big dumb notaries they need. I may be a giver, but there's a line between being a giver and being a sucker.

I have a work at home friend who says WAHM boards

are horribly filled with people saying: Oh, please tell me how to find work. I have signed up with 5 companies and they do not call me back.

She hates the "Please help me. I NEED to find work."

My girlfriend is named H. She's smart as a whip. I mentored her last year but I told here it is really a slow time in Texas. H. did her first signing and charged $225. She was a peach about negotiating a price. I loved it! I told her $150. She gets it up to $225.

Well...it slowed down of course and then she kept that on the side....now she does other things. Daily she sends me ideas on companies to sign up with. Her sis-in-law asked her to help her. She said, "GF, I looked at her like she was CRAZY. I know that woman and she's not who I will recommend on my good name."

She gives me leads all the time. They are solid. I have focused on finishing my book and want to get that done...however, H. is quite handy at paying it forward to me. She's awesome.

Seek work and it will come. Build relationships and you will build a network of friends. How long does it take? Two years minimum.

Re: I THINK THAT IS JUST ABOUT ENOUGH!

It has already been stated if you ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer. I also like to help people. However, in the past three days alone there has been the same questions asked over and over numerous times. All posters have received very good advice, which they don't seem to follow. Then for someone to post and ask for the Top Signing companies. No one is going to hand somebody their list of signing companies. There is a blue button labeled "Signing Central" located at the top of the page. Register with the companies listed. If you would like to read issues in regards to a company prior to registering with them, then click on the orange button labeled "Search" , type in that companies name and read all of the messages that are displayed. There I have no payed it forward, I feel better already. If you think sharing a list with someone that wants it given to them is the "ultimate" then that is your opinion, which you are just as entitled to as I am to mine. And, the people talking about blood baths were joking. Bay of pigs?

I almost let Lulu's comment about that get under my skin. It's fine if she disagrees with my remarks, but do not tell me (paraphrased from memory.) "And people talking about bloodbaths." *then* expect me to believe it was not an attempt at being critical and condescending.

Her criticism is not without merit if she feels it is needed, but then stating it was not what it was is blowing smoke up my skirt and. Bev. this is not our first rodeo here. You and I have been trashed before...be it nice words or ugly ones, incomplete sentences which infer much or succinct statements which are straight to the point.

Never get mad...just remember who is not your friend.

Re: I THINK THAT IS JUST ABOUT ENOUGH!

Top Companies: Yes I would also point them to the list. Whether someone gives them the list or points them to the list is the same and they have to go through the same motions, so yes, I would say point them to the list. Funny thing about this site-When I first came on it, I had trouble finding my way around. Once I got somewhere, I forgot how I got there. Now I look around and wonder what confused me so much. It is actually a very simple uncomplicated site.

Asking for Top Companies just makes me chuckle. Maybe someone's wrong choice of words, maybe just naivete'. Who knows? and of course there is also laziness. I think you gave very good instructions within your message of how to maneuver and what headings to look for to get there.

I think someone has given an impression of notrot forum is the bottomless pit of help. Could people misconstrue that and come on like gangbusters with their questions? As I said I guess I pull patience and understanding out of my a** or something cuz I am not a patient person but I do understand that it takes all kinds. Just think how boring it would be otherwise! Smile
