What do you think

Ok so I haven't done a signing yet just got a call from signaturesplus asked if I was avail for signing tomorrow @ 6p for an equity 45-50 pages brwrs will have package fax back 4-5 pages send back next day $ 50 . I said I would do it however I also told them that I have never done one before but am confident that job will get done correctly just wanted to give her the heads up if she couldn't find someone else she go ahead and call me back well I'm know there are many others so don't expect a call back I'm thinking maybe I should have just bit the bullet and just said ok and went on with the signing instead of pointing out the fact that I haven't yet done one ? oh yeah she said she found my name on notrot and suggested that I ask for a ride along with someone in my area I thought that was funny considering all the post I read regarding that....

Take everyone that calls that is the only way you will get exp. i dont think the test helps much , just hands on training, Plus i dont think the people on here are very nice to new signing agents. So i wouldn't ask some of them

Do a search for Signatureplus and reconsider.

I wouldn't start with Signature Plus

I was not paying attention and now I am waiting on payment that is way too long overdue. Good luck, but if you are going to do it you should try to get paid also.

I realize I need to start somewhere maybe not with signaturesplus but should I be stating that I haven't done any signings I am certified ( big woop I know) and just leave it up to them to interpet anyway they like kinda like the if they don't ask don't tell policy ...

Don't ask, don't tell. . .

Don't volunteer the information. If you are asked, don't lie, but do as you did and tell them that the job will get done correctly if they give you the opportunity.

Then list the names and emails/numbers of the many signing agents who have volunteered to help you off-list, and ask them to help you through your first signing. With them, you can't go wrong.

"I said I would do it however I also told them that I have never done one before but am confident that job will get done correctly just wanted to give her the heads up if she couldn't find someone else she go ahead and call me back"

So you basically told her to call somebody else to do the job and only use you as a last resort? How exactly do you expect to ever get any business doing that?

In this case you lucked out because as others have pointed out, working for Signatures Plus is NOT a good idea. But in the future just accept the job, then check this site for comments about the company. If it's one with a reputation like Signatures Plus, don't think twice about calling and giving the job back. It's not worth it to just give away your labor just so you can gain some experience.

I would suggest if you want a ride a long to go to www.loansigner101.com Kelly Robertson is great at what she does (notary coaching/mentoring) and she has the whole state of California set up to put you out on a ride-a-long with experienced notaries.

Good Luck to you. Smile

Re: What do you think - Juanita - I think you are going to

make it. I have been watching your posts and you are not thin-skinned...haven't seen a bit of whiner in you.

+++I elect you to New Notary of the Week.+++

Besides that, I like you because your name reminds me of the Andy Griffith show...Barney used to call up a gal on the phone and "sing" Hhwaanneeeeta into the phone.

Seriously, you a doing a good job of reading the board and not crying when people don't tell you that you are pretty and the smartest girl here. (CaliNotary had to tell me that once so I'd stop crying--it does help.)

YOU ARE BETTER prepared than most people - better than I was - on my first signing according to your info about reading the dox you have on hand...do you know your notary rules? If so GO FOR IT.

Anyhow...take your next signing call - just DO IT. If it is in the evening, put my phone number in your loan package and call me if you get hit the wall out of stage fright. Let me know ahead of time and I'll do my best to be available to you. If you need to call title or the lender I'll tell ya. If it's just a brain poot, I can help you out with that.

I had a friend call me last night while I was in a signing. (For those of you who do not know, last night WAS the official Signing From He77 Night. My gf who called was in a signing also and had a question - she was out by some nasty ol' inlet of the Gulf in a junky house signing. Practically a dump yard. Difficult bwrs who were also big fat liars. She got 'er done, though.

I was with a couple of readers who were very THOROUGH and thank goodness, I had a few to review docs beforehand or it would have take longer than 2 hrs....BUT one of our posters called me today with the WINNER.

Seems the bwr was older and wanted her RE friend to attend the signing. Okay...no problem...except the bwr was reading EVERY line of a huge package to the friend BECAUSE HE was elderly and blind to boot. I'll let that notary take credit for this one if said notary cares to but I LAUGHED out loud - real loud - while hearing the recap because it was not ME!!

Do a search on the other notary website which I can't mention here. I had to go through the BBB to get paid by Signatures Plus. I know a lot of people that still have not been paid by them. If you work for Signatures Plus you will more than likely be working for free! JMHO.
